Sorry I haven't responded. I've been too busy for the forums for a while.
I hope your trip was a success. Let's see some of your pictures.

I haven't gone yet. I leave Saturday afternoon. As an Accountant, this is as close to Disney World that I can get before April 15. I will keep you posted though.

Thanks to everyone for their advice.

I am so far behind! I didn't know this was here! And my name's in it!

The suggestions I usually have is if you can, with night shots, always use a manual setting. It seems like some of the fellas here have helped explain that a bit.

Also, a tripod is especially important on those night shots. (Although, if you're camera is quick enough, sometimes you can get night shots without the tripod. Then again, I have access to a professional digital camera that I took with me to help out with that too...so that's why I have some amazing fireworks shots.)

Another thing that I know has been talked about is the composition. It really is important. I like looking for some of the things that are lesser known. Or, I'll take a picture of the smaller piece of the bigger whole. (Example...take a photo of just Mickey Mouse in the Partners statue instead of the whole thing. Or just his face, etc.) Usually when people take photos they try to get the whole thing in there...I'm one who likes to be up close with things. (It comes from my photojournalistic side.)

On my point and shoot camera, I have been known to fix some things using Photoshop. (However, I definitely don't do it for the contests...just wanted that to be known. ) So, I'll bump up the color saturation and fix the contrasting.

But these guys know what they're talking about and since they've answered more so far, I've probably given you advice that's already been given. :D

Just have fun...take things that you think are interesting and be creative and you'll be fine.
