Photo in Eye Working on ToT?

Saw a tweet yesterday from the a website that cannot be printed here that the photo of your elevator in the eyeball on Tower of Terror is now working again. This was one of my favorite effects from ToT, but it hasn't worked in so long that I assumed it was gone forever.

Can anybody confirm that Mr website manager-who-must-not-be-named is correct?

You see the people in the elevator and then they disappear showing only an empty elevator. Similar to the effect at DCA's ToT.

For quite a few years it's been just a random image and not your own elevator. We had 4 people in the elevator back in May and the picture showed an elevator full of people.

So is it the actual elevator shot now?

IIRC, the flash for the photo was taken on the floor with the hallway when the lightning was going off. I don't think the flash for the camera has been working since the effect stopped.

I always had fun trying to find myself in the eye.

I understand they are using the image that was taken for Nightastic.

It's the same flash and picture effect they used for Nighttastic. They haven't changed the transition yet, it still sweeps as if it was on the doors, and the eyelid closes late. They will tweak it soon. Good news

For a while after Nighttastic, it was still showing up at the bottom of the drop OVER the film, but I think they finally took that out. This was all on one half of the ride at least, the other side was not working even that good.

Yes, it's the actual elevator. If you are familiar with the hallway scene, you can easily tell when the picture is taken.

Yes, it shows the people in your elevator disappearing from their seats. Yes, there are different drop sequences.

First the enhancements to World Showcase, then we get Space Mountain audio, Journey into Imagination gets walled off (for what has to be something new), the audio gets repaired on Rockin' Roller Coaster and now the Eyeball gets fixed on TOT. Can we DARE say WDW is slowly beautifying the parks? I mean, add all this to Fantasyland and WDW is really looking good for the future.


Now, lets send some of these folks over to Dinosaur and Everest so we will have Zero complaints. :sohappy:

Me too. I only have a problem when something is BLATANTLY broken and sits there. I pretty much see everything in WDW with Rose colored glasses.

Also, I forgot about the enhancements to Pooh, Star Tours and the new parade.

This is great to see (no pun intended); restoring an old effect while at the same time incorporating something from Nightastic. Perfect!

We went on it twice yesterday. The first time, the photo was in the eye, and it dropped out of frame like DCA. It also appeared at the very bottom of the elevator shaft on the screen. The second time the eye opened and there was only an empty elevator.

Both times they took our photo in the same area they took your photo during the summer nightastic profile.

I rode it yesterday and the eye is working!

The same pic is also shown in the bottom of the shaft with Serling's goodbye video.

It is looking good for WDW!

Oh and Dinosaur has been getting some love for a few months. The laser scanner and smoke, doors and some of the meteorites are back working again. It still needs some work, but it is progressing.
