hi
this is quite embarresing

ya kno when people have real embarresing phobias like a phobia of buttons or cotton candy, well i kinda have a.... y'know a weird phobia of something i know they sell at wdw in a few of the merchandise outlets, my huge problem is that iv been given a job as a merchie and i am petrified that i will be working with these products which i can't even look at, i wouldnt be able to carry, scan, pack them!!

is there any way i could contact the job sorters at wdw to see if i can be positioned somewhere which doesnt sell them?

even if i manage to contact them, what are the chances that they will listen to me, as its not as if its a medical prob.

thanks for hearin me out

There is no way to request a store, or even an area in merchandise. You are told the area when you arrive. But it could be at a resort or a park. I got to work at Fantasyland, and I worked at carts and in stores. I worked 9 different locations in Fantasyland in all (and that doesn't count extra hours or being deployed to other areas).

All you can do is tell your employer of your phobia and request you be placed away from them - it's not that many stores sells rubber critters so it should not be an issue for them.

Kind of OT, but while we're on this subject, I'm scared of real spiders, and have heard plenty of stories about gigantic MONSTER spiders, the kind that would knock me pale and send me to the hospital straight on sight.

How common is that? If a fear of these huge spiders is a legitimate concern, would it be prudent to just avoid the CP altogether?

Best thing to do, imo, is head to a psychologist who can help treat or cure your phobia. I'm sure you've seen at least one TV show where folks come on that are petrified of things and by the end of the show they are able to hold and look at the objects. It's a mental thing - not physical - and thus extremely treatable. I would highly reccomend seeking out professional help, and then you won't even have to worry about where you get put. Knock two birds out with one stone.

Best,
joey

Real spiders? Like in the housing complexes? In beds?

You know, one of the un-spoken drawbacks to living in Florida is that

THE BUGS NEVER DIE!

Here in Kansas, we have something called winter, during which cold blooded creatures such as insects disappear, only to return with warm weather.

In places that don't have that season, they remain active all year.

So, yeah, you're gonna see crawly things from time to time.
