Philharmagic: Still On Schedule?

I'm planning on being there 10/2-10/6. I've read that the media event is scheduled for 10/9 but will there be a soft opening as in the case of Mission: Space. I'm really looking forwarde to seeing something new with my kids.

Looks like it could have soft openings anytime now. THe giftshop looks done as well as the que. There is just a large wooden wall thing blocking the way in.

I'm heading down tomorrow, it'd be cool if it opened. But if MS is open I wont even remember Philharmagic is there.

PhilharMagic previews are scheduled to begin in September.

I wouldnt expect this to be anything like Mission Space with previews. A few days for CMs, a few days for Annual Pass holders, but certainly not months in advance like Space.

What are the chances?

We will be in WDW 9/28-10/10. I'm sure I want to avoid the crowds in the MK on the day of the Grand Opening on 10/8, but what are the chances of this attraction being open to the general public prior to that date? Also, do you think that this will be a FASTPASS attraction, even if only for a short time after it opens?
PS-I know that no one can make any rock-solid predictions but if you could just base your reply on previous attraction openings that you've watched unfold, that wd. be great. Thanks!

It is already. Fastpass return signs can be seen outside the building as we speak.

There will certainly be soft openings for this attraction, as there is for any attraction, only they will be for probably less than a month--good chance they will be when you are there, but I don't think crowds will be that bad after it grand opens, as SPACE grand opens at the same time--I think it will see the bigger crowds...it's the off season, regardless...
