Philharmagic Previews

My wife, two daughters, and I were at MK on Monday celebrating my oldest's 8th birthday. My wife thought it would be best if she took our 2 year old over to Fantasy Land while me and my other daughter tackled some of her favorites.

Well wouldn't you know it, my wife was asked to attend a Philharmagic preview. According to the Imagineer who hosted (whose name she can't remember) she was the third audience to see the show. He also said it was 98% complete and was going to be tweaked just a little based on the audience reactions.

As for the show itself, all she will tell me is that the 3-D was great and the show was very funny (both she and my 2 year old laughed out loud several times. She doesn't want to tell me anything else so as not to spoil the surprise.

Just thought everyone would like to know, at least one person thinks it a great show.

She says they were asking whoever happened to be walking by at the time. They filled about 90% of the seats.

I know. She's been taunting me with it since Monday. Every once in a while she starts singing "I got to see Philharmagic and you didn't!"

Sounds like its getting ready to open soon :D Great to hear your wife enjoyed it. You don't have to ask if you don't want to (I don't want to be spoiled by details either  ), but how does she rank it compared with other Disney 3D shows? Comparable, worse or better? Thanks in advance to both you and her :)

Weird... So did I, and it was at least my third one. I never dream about attractions, but this one has kind of snuck itself into my head. I wonder if that means anything... :)

YEP .....There have been a few random tests the first was at the begining of Aug.

Nothing is ever scheduled. So it happens when imagineering wants to test out the attraction.

BTW....I absolutely love the attraction.:D

 How many people remember the first show in that building???? I think it was The Mickey Mouse Revue (correct me if im wrong).... how does the new one compare??? And if it was the first show in that building, when did it actually premier?? (I went my first time to WDW 1971 but I was only 12 yrs old and don't remember if that show was there at the time, I dont think it was ...)

I never got the chance to see MMR and I have yet to see MP. But I would always put a AA show way above a 3D attraction no matter what. As much as I love Muppets and TTBAB they don't have the same effect on me as riding Haunted Mansion or any of the "classic" attractions. But I hope that MP does blow me away, the first time I saw TTBAB I was amazed, but seeing everytime I go gets a bit old. But till November I will not know how amazing MP will be!!!!

Ugh...I would LOVE to see a new version of MMR to be put in there in the coming decade(s).

That would just be...awesome. Think back to the Three Caballeros scene with Donald...can anyone say CLASSIC?? :D

However, Mickey's PhilharMagic seems to intend a little hint and nudge here and there...it'd be funny if they put a Three Caballeros scene with Donald in there!

(Okay, can anyone help me rid of this image of a madly shaking Animatronic duck??)

I asked her that question and she wouldn't say. She's being very tight lipped about everything. She is really enjoying knowing something about Disney that I don't.
