I would try to find someone to keep him at home, going back to the room that much is going to eat up almost all of your park time, think about it your looking at 90 minutes travel time (to the room, back the park) everytime you go back to the room to check on him, 2 or three times you have eaten up your whole day.
He can be alone for several hours as he is used to it due to work hours so that is not a problem but due to the severity of my youngest ADHD we may be making multiple trips anyway

The rooms at Riverside should be big enough but it might be tight with a large dog. I'm not able to board my dog because of health issues that prevent him from receiving vaccines. I thought about taking Pip with me but being alone in a strange place any amount of time stresses him out way too much. He doesn't even like being in a hotel during power outages when we're with him!! So I know taking him with me on vacation would bother him too much. I think he gets overwhelmed by the new sounds and smells. So far, we've found some great pet sitters on Rover that are willing to stay at our house with them. And I've been lucky enough to find some graduate students that have more free time and are at home with him most of the day. I worry about him more while gone that he misses me LOL.

Plus you have 20 or 30 minutes to get back to your room when or if your dog barks and disturbs other paying guests.

I've been on my job for 20 years and handling dogs for 16. I have had three K9 partners in that time. They average about 7 to 8 years with me and after retirement they become my pet. I have spent more time with them than I do with my own children. My pups come with me to work and also live with me. They too, are part of the family. Having said that, I have no issues either boarding them at our facility or at a private kennel. Best of luck to you and enjoy your vacation.

We have used the on-property kennel for 9 years with our 60 pound Shepherd/Chow mix.

We take her for “day care” only and pick her up at night so she can sleep in the room with us.

They stay open until one hour after the last park closes, and you can go visit during the day (we usually take her for a run in their dog park out back if it’s a long park day.)

It’s to the point she gets all excited when we turn onto Bonnet Creek Parkway!

Day care is something like $35 depending on the room you choose and any discounts you have (AP, etc.)

Sounds like a lucky dog!

I am thinking I will look into the on property "day care" for him just to avoid any unnessacary stress on us or him. Thank you for the in site on this.
