Pete's Dragon

One Little Spark...
When I was at MK in August 2011, Elliot was still in the parade (with Pete riding him)

I searched youtube for a 2012 version of the parade, and here he is. Big as life and blowing smoke at the guests. I found several. The one below is from January. I also found one from May.

Skip to 15:47 (unless you really just want to watch the whole thing and dance around the house to the music)

I've alway thought Elliott should be a walk-a-round character for meet n greets.

Our department has tried to create a costume but alas elliot is portrayed as being huge an the costumes we would make would weigh about 80-95 lbs impractical to walk around maybe one day as a living character incorporated into an animatronic like Lucky. Theres tons of crazy stuff that goes on over at wdi in glendale. You never know....

Pete's Dragon is one of my all time favorite Disney movies too. Like a bunch of other people said, be sure to check of the Main Street Electrical Parade. Pete may even say hello! :-) That is one neat thing about this parade that Spectro doesn't have (aside from Pete and Elliott), but several characters are on mics and can interact with the audience.

I loved this movie as a kid.... we were nuts about it! I bet I could still sing along with songs. My favorite was always "Happiest Home In These Hills". Great movie for kids even today. I am going to have to look for the sparkly pin when I down there this weekend.

Just make him Beast height. That would be fine with me. With all the fudging they do on heights with characters they could do it. If they really wanted him they could make a way. :)

Denise Case was the last person I heard working on this project with Elliot I'll get back to you an ask her what's going on with Elliot....

That's an interesting article, but as it says, "the 'Disney Dragonkind' product line isn't for all your purists out there. Those folks who insist that Disney's characters can never change, that they must always look as they did in the very first film they appeared in." Consider me a purist :D I like Elliott to seem sweet and cuddly like he was in the first and only Pete's Dragon movie, not ferocious.

When I was there in Mary I was walking through the pin store in Frontierland I saw a Pete's Dragon pin so I am certain you will be able to find one.

I hope the pin looks like the traditional Elliott!

I could sing all the songs to this day too! I love Helen Reddy. Post a pic of your pin if you get one this weekend. :)

I purchased an Elliot pin when I was there. I did three trips in 2010-2011 and I purchased it during one of those trips. It was definately after the MSEP came to WDW and it is a cuddy version of Elliot.

Glad to hear that there are more pins based on Elliot. I have an older one in my collection.

What I really want is a Doctor Terminus pin!

I was so inspired by that movie as a kid, that now my husband and I roam around the country doing an old fashioned medicine show at various fairs and historical reenactments.
