we are wanting to hit this ride first to start out our day. How fast does the line fill up?
I know later in the day it seems to stay
around 45+ min wait

It pretty much stays backed up all the time. Even during EMH and near closing it still tends to have a sizable crowd around it. An all time classic for sure though. Ride it no matter how you have to.

This is one of the attractions where the stand-by queue just gets hammered by the FastPass+ queue. I mean it's always been a long wait for PPF, but FP+ makes it 100 times worse.

Echoing what the others say, get there relatively close to rope drop and you'll be fine.

The ride always has a long wait time, not because its popular as such, but because it has a extremely low capacity. You're only chance of riding is if you get there at park opening or use a Fastpass.

Back in June Peter pan was the first ride we chose to ride and by the time we made it there it was already a 30 minute wait in line. It was worth it though because I loved the ride.

I would assume it is always backed up because of the tiny ride vehicles. They're two to a boat, right? I wouldn't know because I've never been able to get on it haha! I would really love to get on next spring, but i dont think I get access to tickets on school trips.. I would have to dash to the FP+ kiosk and book as soon as I could. If you run, I'm sure you can make it ;)

I am wondering if it'd be possible for Disney to replace the two seat cars with 4 or more seat ones. Are there any narrow turns in that ride where a bigger car would not be able to fit?

I feel like that has been considered already, since this problem has been going on for years-- maybe there's a weight issue that comes along with two more people?

The ride building itself is quite small and the track can hold only a few cars (boats) at a time. There are blueprints available online which makes it clear how limited the capacity will ever be. It's really only small part of the building in the west end with Philharmagic. There is no real expansion space either given how it's hemmed in by the surrounding buildings and pathways. This has nothing to do with cost savings or tight fisted execs. Given the ride parameters it will always have long lines.
