Peter Pan Live on NBC

Peter Pan is mentioned as just "Pan" multiple times in the original work, so there's that. There's no change.

How can you call the entire movie bland and boring when you haven't even seen it? And stop speaking for everyone. You're entitled to your opinion, but please don't say things like "no one wants to see the movie".

Fair enough. You have a good point. I'm sorry for saying that, but my own personal opinion still tells me the movie is not going to be promising. I'm surprised many people here are actually looking forward to it.

Peter Pan is one of those classic and well-known stories that lots of people love seeing re-told. The same goes for other fantasy-type stories like Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood, The Wizard of Oz, King Arthur, Red Riding Hood, etc. I don't find the hype and excitement over this surprising at all.

I watched 5 minutes until that woman started harking (singing and turned it off). I am sure its a lovely show but I cant sit watching singing and dancing for more than 30 minutes. I am fine with the 2 minute ride at disney.

All this time I didn't realize they were airing it on a Thursday. It's a family musical that ends at 11:00 on a school night. Why? Anyway I'm not watching Live. my daughter wants to see it so we will watch tomorrow night.

@RandomPrincess I'll be watching it on another night also, I had my mil dvr it. I went with my mom, sister and niece to see Cinderella tonight at Shea's Theater and just got home. I can't believe it's on until 11! At least I can fast forward through commercials this way.

I just got through watching it. I thought Allison Williams was a fantastic Peter Pan! I thought it was pretty good, except it was a little too cheesy, and Christopher Walken was absolutely TERRIBLE just as I suspected! He paused so many times it seemed like he was forgetting his lines, and he couldn't even move right. It's like he was just trying to be too fabulous with that pink umbrella. And don't even get me started on his singing, if that's even singing! :banghead: He ruined it for me, but I enjoyed Williams as Peter Pan.

Did anybody else crack up at the twitter thing that said tweet #savetinkerbell? A bit ridiculous IMO. :hilarious:

I also got slightly creeped out when Peter suddenly looked at the camera and began talking to us. I mean, the whole time the characters are just interacting with each other, as if not even noticing the cameras, then suddenly "Hey you! We need your help to save Tinker Bell! Clapclapclapclapclapclapclap!" :bored:

All the Captain Hooks I have seen never sing they kinda sing talk. I agree that talking to the audience thing works much better in a stage show.

With the exception of Walken as Hook I was pleasantly surprised by tonight's performance. I thought Williams did a really great job as Peter Pan and overall the whole thing was really charming. As a true NY Broadway fan I loved seeing Christian Borle and Kelly O'Hara make appearances and thought they were great. Overall A definite improvement from Sound of Music last year!

Honestly, if Walken hadn't been acting like Walken I would have been really disappointed.
What would be the point of bringing him in if he's going to act normally?

I can't wait for the Jungle Book remake. I'm already hearing Walken sing "I Wanna Be Like You" in my head and it's GLORIOUS.
