Peter Pan line Plusing is NOT the answer

I've been advocating for a major plussing of Peter Pan for some time. It doesn't necessarily have to be radical...just give the ride more depth and breadth, better AAs, a dazzling starry sky, and use new technology to tell the same story the ride tells...only better, much better. Walt would have done that DECADES ago. TDO should take PPF a lot more seriously than it apparently does. That ride is ALWAYS very busy. I've only managed to ride it twice during my last 4 visits to WDW.

Pan is in dire need of an upgrade and refurbishing (even though I still love its retro self), and added capacity. But instead they use perfectly good money they could have budgeted towards that on interactive queue's/fastpass etc, while the ride itself will just continue to deteriorate. Sad.

Its part of Disney's final phase of the NextGen plan...eventually everything will be an interactive queue and there won't be any attractions

I actually agree. Fast pass always slows down the regular line, but, for this ride, it is particularly noticeable.
It's all about the ratios that they use. I got in line once at like 1 AM because the line looked a lot shorter than the 20 min posted standby time. They literally let on five standby people every five minutes. It was the worst wait I've ever had at Disney.

I wouldn't go on Pan without a fastpass at WDW. Look, they need to take notice from Disneyland's Fantasyland. There are tons of dark rides in there and while Pan is still probably the most popular I never felt that the lineup was ever as long as WDW's. The capacity of the ride isn't very good, we all know this. Two people and a child can get on at once, that's just too slow. But if WDW had more attractions in Fantasyland it would be more spread out and Pan wouldn't have the same wait times. Disneyland doesn't have fastpass for anything in Fantasyland and you can peel through stuff rather well there. This is what happens when you have lots of rides.

Personally, I think PP is a waste of time. I am not saying I am right, for me it is not worth it unless I can walk right on. It is no different than any other of State Fair Fantasyland rides. I understand they are all for children, but they are childish at best. They need a complete overhaul of those rides (PP, SW, Pooh). They need to make them more fun than they are. The Cat in the Hat ride at IoA is an example. It is a little cheesy too, but the unit moves, spins, and adds to the ride.

So PH was scrapped in favor of the gender neutral Storybook Circus...

No, Dumbo and Goofy's Barnstormer was in the original plan...they eliminated Snow White's Cottage and Sleeping Beauty's Cottage to make room for the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train, and Pixie Hollow was replaced with the Storybook Circus area, after the unjustified "What about the little boys" argument was raised (like was noted, the ENTIRE Magic Kingdom is themed towards boys more so, so what was the problem with making NFL themed towards our Darling Daughters?
NEVERTHELESS, the SDMT is better than making 3 separate stops in 3 different 120minute queues (Fast Pass for Belle's Cottage, please???), and they can (hopefully) incorporate the ‘magic’ they planned on using in the cottages into the shared Princess meet and greet. And having Pixie Hollow across from Dumbo and Goofy's Barnstormer didn’t make much sense (makes much more sense behind NFL).

I'm not quite sure why Fastpass was deemed necessary for ANY ride.
People who blast Fastpass completely, or declare it invalid for this attraction or that attraction simply don’t understand the concept. Simply put, Fastpass allows you to enjoy more attractions (or other things) in a day than you would normally be able to without FP and with just a little simple time management, many more. Fasspass allows those who can’t or won’t wait in a line to enjoy an attraction they would not normally be able to. Fastpass gives you back the time you’d normally waste in lines to use as you please (to waste in other attraction lines, or, if you are smart, shop, eat, relax, or enjoy other attractions without lines like HoP, CBJ, IaSW, a parade/show/adventure<sotmk>…). Fastpass increases the effective capacity of the park, because when you are not waiting in a long line you can enjoy one of the under capacity attractions or shows or parades or eateries or shops. Even the DHS Voyage of the Little Mermaid FP eliminates wasted time in the standby line, and evens out the capacity flow of each show. The only attractions that are a waste of a FP are those who generally never reach capacity during the day, like the Indiana Jones Stunt Show or Philharmagic (although the ‘free…surprise’ Fastpass they give out for MP are to ‘fill up the seats’ they still increase the capacity of the park). There really is no negative to Fastpass (except when it’s down), except for those who don’t use it.

Disneyland Paris has it right, and the line is almost never longer than 20 minutes...no fastpass...double vehicle capacity ( front and backseat)...and no stop loading( moving walkway like Arial and Haunted Mansion)

Peter Pan is an old ride. My boys age 8 love Peter Pan. They also love the fairies, especially the new one Periwinkel.:) I loved Mr. Toad and Snow White when I was little. Those are classics that were sadly taken away.:( I hope they don't do that w/ PP. It is a ridiculous line for such a short ride. I hope they do something and soon!

It says something for the popularity of an attraction so simple yet so well done (in places).

The flying over London is a memory that most people will never forget.

I'm just not into the queue plussing. I would rather have money and time go into attractions than the line up to get into an attraction.

I love Peter Pan but it's probably most of a personal thing since it's the first Disney movie I ever remember seeing and Mr Smee was the first character I met on my first trip to WDW (in '75). I've always had a soft spot for the story and the characters so I love the ride.

I get around the wait time by going during parade times or during late evening EMH. I can often ride it twice during the late hours - I get my fill in then and don't even bother doing a midday trip to Neverland.

To be quite honest, I was never sure why Fastpass was even deemed necessary for any of the continuously-moving rides.
My boyfriend and I discussed this for Buzz. We waited in line when it said '60 minutes', but it was more like thirty because it was continuously moving.
