Peter Pan character CM

I've never seen Peter Pan in WDW, but I have seen Tinker Bell at the beginning of Fantasy in the Sky fireworks! The only live performers I've seen were at MGM a few years ago...they performed in the buildings above the main street...are they still there? Sorry to get off topic!:rolleyes:

We've met the Peter from your first pic. He was very good. We had seen him running around and the kids (5 of them) couldn't catch up and were very disappointed. About 5 minutes later he showed up at our table where we were taking a break. He took pics of us, played with the toys the kids had bought and generally caused trouble for those passing by. A group of girls (2o ish) wanted to talk and have pics, but he ignored them till he was done with us!!! Needless to say everyone was thrilled!!:sohappy:

I supposed you're referring to the wire that Tinker Bell slides down as she flies to the top of the castle to start the fireworks show. Am I right?

I have seen this peter pan as well. He is a cutie and really gets into his role.

Could you find the particular Peter your mentioned above in the photo galleries? I submitted a few photo URL's at the beginning of this thread when I first posted this topic.

I'm sure all the CM's acting as Peter Pan do a great job, but except for the Princesses, all of the "face" characters kind of bother me. I wish Peter was a rubberhead character like Captain Hook and Mr Smee are.

Why would the "face" characters bother you? Personally, I'd find the face characters to be more fun, since they can talk to you! Also, from what I've heard, the face characters are far less intimidating to the very young children, since many of them get frightened by the "character head" characters that wear the masks.
Most importantly, the face characters often make/have created some really special experiences for the guests, particularly children. How do you think Peter could have possibly does this much to keep these guests happy if he were restricted by a character head mask, which among other things, would keep him from talking to them?

Inquiring minds would like to know! :D

Oh, I really doubt that a "character head" character would be able to create those magical memories and such that you've mentioned (though Mickey seems to do it for some). And as I said, I'm sure they all do a great job. I'm just speaking from my own adult perspective and I really like seeing the characters modeled to look exactly like the animated versions. Just a personal preference and not something that I ever expect Disney to change. Your points about the children's perceptions are probably very true and since they are the ones the characters are really there for, it makes sense that they use "face" characters in some cases like with Peter Pan.

If you or if you have children or grandchildren that love Peter Pan consider doing the Family Magic Tour - In this tour Peter has stolen Captain Hook's hook and is hiding with it. If you don't find Peter and Captain Hook's hook by noon - then Captain Hook is going to take over the Magic Kingdom.

We had only four kids in our group. Two boys (my grandsons) and two darling girls from the Boston area. At the end of the tour we found both Peter Pan and Wendy. We had to parade with them throught Frontierland and Liberty Square to the Peter Pan ride. On the way we watched for tinkerbell - surprise. When we reached the Peter Pan ride my two grandsons got to ride the Peter Pan ride with Peter and the two darling girls went with Wendy. It was the greatest thing for these four kids, when we got in line at the ride and everyone was asking how they were soooo special to get to ride with Peter Pan and Wendy. One of the great moments for a child.

By the way, I expect the Peter we had was the same as many of you have encountered - they were both great - Peter kept doing things that were a little bad and Wendy had to keep him in shape. My grandsons are asking if we can do it again when we go back this December.

Highly recommend this for young children ages 4-9 or anyone, even grandma's, who love Peter Pan.

I KNEW you were going to post something here like that! BTW, is it the character that you're a fan of, or that you have a crush on the CM playing Peter? I have read numerous stories on the Internet about Peter Pan (more accurately the CM playing him) being the object of a LOT of crushes--in addition to his personality, possibly also from seeing his legs in those green tights!!!

The best bet for finding Peter (or any character CM for that matter) is to stop by City Hall on Main Street and ask where that particular CM will be during that day. Hope this helps! :)

I bet that riding with the characters is one of the highlights of a child's WDW trip-- especially for the younger ones who this that these CM's really are the characters!

Just out of curiosity, how did your PP obsession get started? Was it the cartoon/story or the CM playing him that came first. You may reply in a PM if wou wish not to post it here.

THE most touching story so far!

Just wanted to remind you that I ran across THE most touching and moving story I have read so far about Peter Pan (or any character CM) at WDW or the other Disney parks. This involves a young boy who visited WDW on behalf of Make-a-Wish foundation, and the special friend he made there:
