Some interesting permits came out today...

It looks like the Arribas shop on Mainstreet will be extending back into Center Street a bit..

And it looks like work on the 4th Floor Concourse for the Fantasia shop in the main atrium area is going to start..

http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=29081585&file_num=20070449389&doc_status=S

Otherwise, no revelations today, just lots of new pavement at various spots and the Land getting a new sprinkler system.

They need to increase the size of those main street shops somehow. Juggling them all around is one solution, but it seems like they need more space given how crowded they all constantly are.

The thing i found really suprising was when i went to DL - the shops on Mainstreet are huge! They go really far back and have a billion sections and alcoves and such. really interesting contrast to WDW's long and narrow and open approach.

The new sprinklers in The Land will actually be used for the new Livin' with the Land--ROCK IT!...featuring animatronic Red Hot Chili Peppers (get it?).

.... Random Observation: Why does Universal have to try corporate espinoage when they have us to do it for them?

At what part do we as fans (and some of us Journalists) actually cross the line from reporting what is newsworthy into putting out company secrets?

Yes, everything here is "public information" and I'm a vehimate defender of more open access with governments, but do we really need every permit to be posted?

Hey merf is there any chance that this extension of the shop could be for the new bb boutique going into mk, or is it already confirmed that its residence will indeed be cinderella castle??

Merf, have you ever found any permits for Universal. I was just curious if they have filed anything for the HPWW.

Do they have to file permits before the removal of the Wand?

Maybe Im wrong.... but wasnt the RCID made for the sole purpose of EPCOT becuase Kissimmee Planning and Zoning would never approve a Geosphere of such porportions..... Could the permit possibly be filed unther RCID or the State?

Like I said I may be wrong... Im trying to pull what I remember from the Keys to the Kingdom Tour

A permit is required to remove the wand.

That being said all of the information on the Orange County site are notices of commencement, they are not actually the permits themselves - nor the actual paperwork required to obtain permits. The actual paperwork required for the permit to remove the wand would involve hundreds of pages which includes the original plans.

Whether or not a NoC for the wand ever makes it to the County website is anyones guess...

Just playing devils advocate here, but you're actually thanking someone for giving Disney corporate information to Universal?

I don't think that any of the information coming out through permits is really stuff Disney wants to hide. As we've seen with the wand demolition, they can hold permits until just before they start construction; if we didn't have insiders on the boards we wouldn't have known about it until the press release. I'm sure the permits are a bit of a pain for Disney, but definitely something they can work around if they need to.

I don't think this means that they'll be expanding out into the street, but rather they're expanding their floorspace by opening up a stockroom that was previously a backstage area. (Though you'd think they would have thought of that and done it last year when they were rennovating that area anyway...)

Public information doesn't need to be "given" to anyone.

Disney isn't going to let their top-secret stuff get posted online. Have you seen legit floor plans for Toy Story Mania yet? Of course not.

The old toy store on that side of Center Street was upgraded and reconnected to the MK computer systems nearly two years ago in preparation for this.

Now I'm waiting to see whether or not they actually use the space!
