hadnt seen a scheduled closure or maintenance for the attraction but noticed the entrance was screened off and the vehicles were stationary around the attraction throughout this evenings party event.
Were they...Frozen?and the vehicles were stationary
Pretty sure that happens all the time there.I saw posted on a fb group a few days ago they stopped mid-ride and people had to be escorted off. They are probably long overdue for a refurb/maintence.
It's part of the unforgettable that happens here.Pretty sure that happens all the time there.
I was there, we were walking towards the ride to get on when we saw it was stopped and there were people walking out of the Space Mountain entrance....was very odd to see.I saw posted on a fb group a few days ago they stopped mid-ride and people had to be escorted off. They are probably long overdue for a refurb/maintence.

I was there earlier this past week when they shut it down. It looked like they were working on the moving walkways that connect the ground level to the loading area.Didn't the Peoplemover get a refurb earlier in the year?
Still? It was down in August...We'll evidently they didn't get the issue addressed because the up ramp was broken Saturday night.
Indeed. Just keep hoping they continue to refurbish and don't abandon the attraction.
The worst would be another Rocket Rods fiasco and/or if they just abandon it and leave the structure.
It's still there at Disneyland, 15 years later. They could have:
1) Left PeopleMover alone (refurb it but not swapped it out)
2) Invest the money so Rocket Rods worked
3) Just left PeopleMover alone and if Rocket Rods was such a great idea then build a whole new attraction.
4) Decided Rocket Rods was a bad idea and just come up with another idea.
Instead they:
- "Saved money" by being cheap on the design/development of a new ride.
- When it failed, over and over again, shut it down a year later.
- Left the structure to rot for 1.5 decades as a constant reminder of: a) The success of the PeopleMover and b) the failure that as Rocket Rods.
- Collected their bonuses for "saving money" for the company by doing it all on the cheap (I assume this is what drove this horrible idea and implementation)
And for your editorial on rot and decay...throughout WDW there is still far too much of that hanging around. I'm was fortunate to have my children in the era of WDW being expanded and plus'd. No abandoned and neglected attractions, things fixed overnight, shinny paint, loads of landscaping and something majorly new every visit, every year. We would take 14-16 day trips and my kids grew up Disney at WDW in the best of times.
