There's this disclaimer on the online booking site. What's this all about?

There is walking involved, so comfortable closed toe shoes are required and attire should be suitable for current weather conditions. All guests must wear closed toe and closed heel footwear for the Backstage Magic Tour.

For me personally my walking sandals are WAY more comfortable for heavy walking than my sneakers. It's annoying but I'll suck it up if I have to. Just curious if there's a reasoning for this other than the mentioned "there is walking involved."

My guess is for safety reasons as for stubbing your foot. Since you are backstage where there is wood, metal and other such things...I can understand that.

Absolutely for safety reasons. When we did it we toured the carpentry and metal shops. They also gave us safety glasses to wear. When we did it, they were completing the cars for Mission Space.

You need ReeZigs in your life. It is the only shoe I have bought a second pair of I love them so much.

It is policy that everyone in backstage areas wear closed toe shoes for safety reasons. It is also the "Disney Look". It is a requirement for all Cast Members. I do remember though that I had sandals on for the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I guess it all depends on what areas you will be touring.

Thanks for the info.

It must vary by tour, we weren't required to wear closed toe shoes on the Inspiration Through Walt's Eyes tour either. We went backstage but I don't think we went in any areas where they were building things. That's probably the difference.
