I only hope that it can live up to all the good things I have heard about DCA. How big is this park going to be? Is there any room to build?

The "thirdthemepark" link just goes to a page with a picture of the ToT elevator, and a message that says to "stay tuned". Is there another link that has more info?

i just found some info on screamscape.com

2010 - The Third Park - (6/24/02) After nearly two years, we’ve received a new update regarding the use of the new property (80+ acres) down Harbor Street. Our source claims that the latest plan for the property will be a highly themed water park based on the six main continents of the world. The South American area may feature a Mayan temple adorned with six waterslides, two of which will be the near vertical dive type down the side of the temple. In Europe you’ll have slides built into a Swiss Castle, and Asia will feature the Great Wall of China that will somehow house the lazy river. I’m sure this is just one of many ideas.

That site used to be owned by Disney:

http://web.archive.org/web/20010410192600/http://thirdthemepark.com/

But now it looks like someone has bought it, and put that message up just to excite Disney fans. The counter at the bottom is a giveaway, as Disney would never use that, also the site looks quite unprofessional. I just did a look up, and it's owned by a "Chris Manos" of "Littleton CO" (I am not familiar with state abbreviations). All disney domains are registered under the name of "Disney Enterprises, Inc".

I am puzzled as to why Disney would let this domain go though  .

All this is very weird, especially since this is officialy confirmed!

I thought the same thing about the web site! It just doesn't seem right.... But it still doesn't explain the info on an official disney website! :brick: :brick: :brick:

What a mystery!

I wonder if maybe that site just hasn't been updated in awhile? I remember watching this whole 3rd theme park story a couple of years ago. But as I understand it, they decided to scrap the idea for the time being, and focusing on building within the existing theme parks.

I should imagine that the reason Disney still links to the page, is because when the page was made, thirdthemepark.com was still owned by Disney.

After thinking about this I still see this as great news because there are confirmed plans for a third park! I wonder how they want to theme it??? I hope better than a carnival type theme (PP, Dino Rama)

Don't forget, in his October press conference at WDW, Jay Rasulo said that they would not be building any more theme parks in the U.S. for a while, but that they'd concentrate in improving what's already there. I think that a third park is on hold in California right now.

Also, why would they build a third park if DCA is having major problems? Shouldn't they fix up DCA and DL as well before even thinking about a third park?

It seems to me that they're definitely working on improving California Adventure. I already find it much more entertaining than I used to. The addition of the Aladdin show (incredible show!) and the upcoming ToT are already points in its favor.
