PB&J

Silly question: for those QS establishments that offer peanut butter & jelly on their kids menus..are they made to order? My son will eat peanut butter sandwiches but with NO jelly. Has anyone successfully ordered this way? I know WDW accommodates at TS but wondering about QS specifically. Thanks, guys and gals!

I don't know, but how old is your son? You could always tell him that refusing to eat jelly in WDW is as bad as saying "I don't believe in fairies" and that Tinker Bell will die as a result. ;) (I'm a warped individual.)

HA!!! My son is 5 and has a feeding disorder and sensory issues with textures. Oddly enough, he doesn't mind peanut butter but can't stand the sight of jelly. If the QS places can't customize the PB&J, I need to plan accordingly. I like the way you think, though. Just ain't gonna work on this kid. ;-)

Nah, you're cool!! :) I'm not against using some scare tactics or bribery to get him go eat (within reason). I just have to be prepared. Planning meals ahead of time for him is key.

Oddly enough my 4 year old hates jelly too so this is a great question. However I just may use @Matt_Black s tactics. No sensory disorders or feeding issues here... just a weird kid who hates the sugary deliousness of jelly.

I'm almost positive the smuckers crustables would be completely out but I'm going in 10 days... if we are able to get just a peanut butter sandwich anywhere I'll let you know!

You're totally right about the Uncrustables! Not happening! Yes, please keep me posted on the PB situation! :) I hope you have a fabulous trip (sans jelly).

Some QS menus show PB&J sandwiches (Columbia Harbor House) and some others (Sunshine Seasons) show Uncrustables. I wonder..

You can always pack a jar of peanut butter in your suitcase and bring a loaf of bread in your carry on so it doesn't get crushed. I'd recommend getting one of those "sandwich keeper" plastic containers to keep the sandwich when you're waking around so it doesn't get smushed during your day. Plus it will probably cost you about $5 for the week instead of $4 a sandwich at the parks - if they even sell them. Or if your resort has one of those markets for DVC guests you can buy the bread there.

Thanks :) we usually get a delivery from Strollers and Groceries and bring food everywhere we go. Even though it's pricier to order off a menu, it is so rare that we get the opportunity to do so for my son. He gets a sense of accomplishment when he gets to order something that he actually tolerates/likes off a real kids menu. There are very few foods he eats due to his issues. :) Plus, we end up packing so much in our daily cooler pack at the parks, it's nice to have at least one thing I can order at a QS for him to save room for the other stuff he needs. Love the sandwich container tip--they're great.
