Is it possible to settle your bill on checkout with cash? Specifically I mean all purchases done with Magic Band and Mobile app including Genie+ and LL?

Yes. But …..

You still need a CC on file which will get holds applied as your charges accumulate. And as someone said, they will run the charges through the card at some point when the charges reach a certain limit.

So you would need to go to the front desk every couple of days (or even each day to be sure) and pay it down with cash. I would speak to the front desk and find out exactly what the policy is at that particular resort.

The holds would still be applied and can take a few days to drop off.

It’s still gonna happen though. A bit of a different world now. And the real thing is Disney could save costs by dumping the cash. Security/logistics are still quite burdensome with cash.

They don’t love terminal charges…but if there are enough cashless systems being used, they can leverage them against each other to get sweetheart deals.

I disagree. They can encourage cashless and mostly go cashless. But I doubt they would refuse cash completely.

A kid wants a mickey bar or a single chocolate lolly and has a bank note or a hand full of coins. It’s still important for kids to learn about the value of money and they don’t do that by handing over a gift card and being told how much is on it.

Orr an international guest wants some smaller notes to leave as a tip so pays for a few items using a big denomination bank note.

That’s why we can have varying opinions. It’s good to not agree all the time.

I still don't understand why they don't migrate/combine the room charge system with their gift card system, loop in MagicBands and link it to your MDE profile.

At Dunkin' Donuts I can have a gift card (physical or virtual) stored in my account on their app. I load money, can even set up an auto-reload, and then use that balance to buy in-store by showing the QR code in the app or swiping the physical card, or order ahead in the app and use the card balance. When the balance gets low, I just top it off.

Disney is awful at IT…is the answer.

Maybe it’s just me…but I’ve loaded Disney gift cards in MDE about 15 times and it wipes it when you shut down the app. I gave up
