Paying for your trip with Gift Cards

I just wanted to throw this out there and see if anybody has done it?

Yesterday I received a current promotions email from Sam's Club and they have listed a 3 pack of $50 Disney GC's for $142.98. A $7.02 savings may not sound like a lot but I did the math and it comes out to a savings of 4.68% (again does not sound like a lot). Here is the big one, if you multiply it out on a 10 day MYW trip to POFQ, it comes out to a savings of about $250. Now, I dont like to think of myself as cheap but if I have the chance to save a couple hundred dollars, Why Not?? In Disney's eyes you are paying full price so you should still be eligible for any discounts that should happen to come up at a later date. I know it would take a while to enter 100 GC's but $250 would be worth it if the system lets you do it.

182 days out!! ADR's start on Sunday and I can't wait!!

I either buy giftcards from BJs at a discount (and use my Disney Visa to get the additional points back) or buy them at Target with my redcard which gives 5% off everything. An additional 5% off a 10 day trip is a big deal!!

Gee I didn't realize you could get the 5% off gift cards there, is this for all of them? I am assuming the actual Target gift cards are not included.

Just to make sure I'm understanding this correctly:

If I have a room only reservation (not a package), I CANNOT pre-pay with gift cards, I can only ask that they be applied at checkout, correct?

What about the vacation account, does that only apply to packages or can you do it with a room-only reservation? We're annual pass holders, so I don't need to buy tickets.

No - you can prepay the entire room only balance with GC before.

We get them at our grocery store when they do 4 times fuel points. $250 worth = 1000 points which get a $1 off fill up. It's $27ish dollars for DH's truck. Add to that the WDW credit card reward dollars as well!

I don't know - I think it's for everything but I'm not positive!
Certainly not Target ones. I believe the policy is that "entertainment cards" are included. And, luckily for us, Target views Disney gift cards as entertainment cards. Otherwise, I believe iTunes gift cards are included and know Starbucks ones are included. It's not everything though. Target need not know we are using these for vacation and not buying The Little Mermaid 2.

Now that you said that - it kind of rings a bell.
