Paying for Universal Express.

Hey there hi there ho there...

One of the things I like about staying on-property at WDW is the ability to get back to your hotel room, using their transportation if you're really tired, and take a nap. Change clothes if you were really hot or sweaty (or get ice cream or other food on your clothes). I just like the convenience.

This year, my GF and I are using DVC points staying for 9 days and 8 nights, and we kinda need to economize wherever possible, so staying at a Universal hotel isn't in the cards. But we do alreay have annual passes to US/IOA, and I'm hoping to get there for at least 2 days, maybe 3.

Problem is, if we get tired or hot, zipping back to the hotel and then back again isn't quite as convenient. So I was thinking, at least one of the days, it might be a good idea to buy those packs of Universal Expresses so we can hit the rides as fast as possible, and then if we've had it, we can leave, or if we're OK we can stay.

We're going near the tail end of August, but before Labor Day weekend, so we don't have that holiday-level of crowd to worry about, but at least one of the days we're going is a weekend day. Not knowing what the crowds will be like on that day, I want to anticipate paying for the Express Pass. And if we get there and the parks are dead, then, hooray for us. Anyone else ever pay for the Pass Pack (or whatever it's called)? Do you consider it money well-spent?

Just done a search on the Universal Studios sites and can't find anything about Express Packs - I know that they do a front of the line option when staying at their resorts

I've bought it a few times (just in the summer). I'd say it's worth it, even though you can only go through the Express queue at each attraction one time. The price of it varies throughout the peak and non-peak seasons --- it can be anywhere from $17 - $37.

BTW, it's called the Express Pass Plus and they sell it in the mornings at a booth in the front of each park (right after the turnstiles). You can also buy it at most of the "major" shops in the parks.

The express pass plus really helps you get more done in a shorter time. If you are willing to pay for it, IMO, it is well worth it.

buy it and then if you want to ride, for example, ROTM twice use the express pass you bought and get a free universal express... while waiting, go and use the rest of the Universal express plus
