Paying for room only reservation with Rewards Card

We have booked a room only reservation for Sept 2009 at the Poly (our first visit to the Poly ) and had a few questions about paying.

We booked through WDW.com, and paid the deposit on our Chase Disney Visa.

1) When do we pay the balance? At check-in? At check-out?

2) Can we pay the balance with our Disney Rewards Dollars card (not the Visa card...the card that you transfer your points to)?

Thanks. I've searched and can't find a definite answer on this.

I believe you can. The reward dollars are treated just dollars. You should be able to just present your card to the cast member and all will be good. At least that is what I have been told! I hope you have a great trip!

I believe your balance is due 45 days before your trip. You should have a confirmation(receipt) when you booked your trip showing the due date for the balance. I think my confirmation came as as email, not thru the mail.

Yes, you can use your rewards toward any part of your vacation. We normally will have an additional $50 or so on our rewards card that we apply toward any room charges. We either do this the day before we check out or sometime during the trip.

I'm not sure when the balance is due. I always thought it was due 30 days prior to the trip though...:shrug:

I DO know that you can use your rewards points to pay for your room AND tickets (basically, the package). Make sure you transfer your points to your Rewards Card before trying to pay the balance with your points though. I've actually paid for the package completely with points. I've also paid for the package partially with points and the remainder with my Visa. :wave:

For a room only reservation (no tickets, no DDP) your balance is due upon arrival. You should be able to use your Disney rewards card.

Thanks everyone. Just looked at the fine print in my confirmation email and it says:

* Final payment is due upon arrival.

Also says in the Payment Info box:

Balance (USD) due on 09/12/2009 (which is our check in date)


So.......how does this affect using the online check-in 10 days prior? Do you pay online if you check-in....or do you still need to go to the front desk?

On line check-in you pay on the computer when you check-in, but you still have to go to the counter and pick up your package info. It'll be waiting for you when you get there.
