They also changed the strobe lights, the ones that twinkle back to white.

I don't think Marocco is outlined either. Correct?
According to legend (I have literally no idea if it's true or not), Morocco's king requested that it not have the lights added, due to concern about the religious structures being used as part of the show.

I have no idea why Norway isn't lit, though I've read at least one source that claims it's to balance out the unlit Morocco pavilion; I find that tough to believe since the two aren't in similar positions on the lagoon

It is somewhat curious that the only two pavilions that don't have the lights are the two that were added after the park opened. Though I don't think they had a nighttime show for the first few years, so the lights would have been added later to the original pavilions

Morocco is indeed religious.

Norway was competed just before GE paid for the original pavilion lighting scheme for 1988s Illuminations. And has never been retrofitted.

C'mon TDO. It would cost a couple of tens of thousands for some LED edge lights and some coloured washes. Surely you could stretch your budget to this.

Remember, the Stave Church is also a religious structure. That could have some reason behind Norway not having them either.

Stave church is illuminated at night though. As is the main pavilion.

Morocco (the country) has a law along the lines of no lighting to be attached to a religious building.

If they just went through and updated all the lights to LEDs, then it cannot be all that different to add new ones to Norway.
No, but it would cost. Add in programming and data feeds to the existing RoE show control computers and additional programming to the latter and it does add up. Ever so slightly.

I was told that originally the sponsors of Norway did not want to pay for the Illuminations lighting package. So was it that back in 88 or so or was it Disney not wanting to?
