Can't tell if this is sarcastic or not, but it works either way, really.Yup. Don't like IP in hotel room refurbs? Don't like modern design in the Old Key West lobby? Miss Reflections of Earth? Blame the guests.
I mean, it may not be right to blame guests for all corporate decisions, but the company is indeed just responding to what they see as consumer demand.
It is possible to support free exchange in a marketplace, while still lamenting some of the results.
In some domains, all markets are served. In popular music, for example, there are big sellers, consumed by millions but deemed "trash" by connoisseurs who can find something "finer" just a couple clicks away.
Occasionally there are those recordings that walk the highbrow/lowbrow line really well, becoming very popular and critically regarded. It seems that WDW was once more like this (never really "highbrow," mind you) but now may be leaning more toward a "lowest common denominator."
Of course, for us older folks, "critical" capacities are affected by nostalgia, which we should keep in mind.
