Heading on our first Disney cruise in September, Bahamas, and curious to what experienced folks think in regards to getting a passport book($110) vs. passport card($30). Need help creating a Pros/Cons list if you will.

Thanks ahead of time for the feedback!

The card is convenient due to its size but as I understand it, if there is an emergency and you need to be flown out of a country, it's much easier to do so with a full passport.

Our research has found that with a passport card you can only enter the country via land/sea where passport book allows you to reenter via air. We opted to go with the book just to be safe and not have to worry about jumping through a lot of hoops with just the card. I would be interested in hearing from someone if they have had a situation where they needed to use either.

If you're getting a passport card because you're worried about traveling with just a government issued photo ID and a birth certificate, ask yourself why. If it's because you won't be able to fly out in an emergency, you're not better off with a passport card. You cannot re-enter via air with either one.

Totally my opinion, but if you're going to spend the money on a passport, get the full thing.
