Passholder Merchandise Discount in full force

Just a head's up since I know the Passholder website is useless for keeping current on offers and promotions. I was at the parks yesterday and when checking out at MouseGear in Epcot, the CM asked me if I was a Passholder. I told her yes I was and she said, "well, don't forget to get your discount then!" She also said if the CM doesn't ask, be sure to remind them to get the AP discount.

I bought some items later in the day in the Emporium at MK and mentioned I as a Passholder and got the 10% off no problem.

So it seems that despite it not being published on the website, the 10% Passholder (and 20% Premium Passholder) discounts are still in full force for merchandise at Disney-owned locations! :D

Yeah, we got home late last night from our first day of being FL AP holders and I asked my partner if she had enjoyed the AP discounts that she got during the day. She looked at me and said, "What AP discounts?" No one had asked her if she had a AP for discounts at any point during the day, so she paid full price for the stuff that we did buy. Honestly, we were pretty cheap yesterday when it came to merch. Our biggest bill all day was for haircuts at the MK Barber Shop. However, Gabby now knows, there are discounts to be had and I hope she remembers the next time we head over because I am going to Epcot and the F&G Fest is a big wallet buster for me usually. I love my Disney garden stuff. :)

What I always do is every once in a while is grab a booklet from Guest Relations on my way into the parks for the most up to date perks.

Basin is indeed open. I am here in WDW now so I can confirm this as a sure, up-to-date thing. No signs, to my knowledge, of it closing.

I was told by a cast member at the end of the year that the discount had been extended thru at least the end of this year. He stated that the reason for this was because Disney is making more money because of it. I expect that it will be something that they continue as other parks in the area have been offering the discount for passholders for years. I wish that Disney would offer the discount on food also instead of making you pay for a card to get the discount. I am able to get anywhere from 10% - 20% off of food at the other parks with my annual pass and sometimes even a little more.

I actually had a problem getting the discount at the Christmas Shop in the MK. Took 30 mins for them to figure out how to do it.

Ah, good find! I know I hadn't seen it lately on the special offers section but didn't look in the regular discounts section. I was very surprised when the MouseGear CM asked me proactively if I was a Passholder. I'm happy they've finally expanded it to in-park purchases. I'm rarely over at DtD and it seems silly to make someone leave a park to buy something if they want the discount.

My mom and I learned of this the other day, too. We thought it was just exclusive to Downtown Disney.
It used to be only World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. They have been offering the discount in the park locations on-and-off as "special offers" that sometimes overlapped, sometimes were offered without it being announced and sometimes CM's didn't know anything about it and wouldn't give it to you even if it was one of the special discount periods. Which is why it's so awesome it seems pretty standard now according to the info DisneyInsider posted above.

I present our AP and DVC cards at every purchase because I can't be bothered to keep track of the discounts and would otherwise forget. The cast members at stores without discounts typically just ignore it and hand them back.

It seems that the AP gives you the best discount on most things. However, on my recent trip I once fanned out my AP,DVC, and D23 (expired) cards and told the CM to pick the one that helps me the most. Then I realized I might need counseling... :lookaroun

If you show your Premium AP at the WDW Psychiatry Clinic, they might give you a discount. :lookaroun
