So I was browsing dining reservations and wanted to book a Fantasmic package for my solo trip. When I accidentally left the party size at 2, a number of options popped up, but when I corrected it to 1 person suddenly there was only 1 option... so, what might happen if I "accidentally" booked for 2 but showed up alone? Would they charge a half cancellation fee?

For a normal dinner reservation then it would be fine. So long as one person turns up there is no cancellation fee.

For a Fantasmic (or other) dining package I’m not sure.

I would book for 2 if it’s the only way to get what you’re after and then call the Dining line and ask them to modify it.

This happens all the time, you need two but can only find 3 or 4. Some restaurants it is hard to find a table for two, like in Le Cellier so we’ll make the reservation for the closest count and either call to modify or swing by the restaurant earlier in the day tell them the number has changed. Don’t have a problem at Be OurGuest because they have a bunch of tables for 2.

We made a reservation for 3 at Steakhouse 71 last December (because there were no reservations for 2 but yes for 3) and then showed up with 2 people. It was no issue at all.

The OP was asking about a dining package which comes with “tIckets” to Fantasmic, for which you pay a premium of about $10 per person (depends which restaurant as to how much extra you pay).

I don’t know if the rules are different.
