Party Season 2021

In this case, my understanding is that it would start at 9:30 after a 9 pm close (with Happily Ever After at 9 pm). They can’t start the party until after the fireworks.

HEA would move earlier by 10/1. Sunset on 10/1 is at 7:10 pm.
I like seeing HEA more and more on here!

As for Boo DAH, As soon as Tink flies and HEA ends, will MK move to a hard close to get people that aren't supposed to go to Boo DAH out of MK? Granted that only leaves MK about 12 min, less with the 50th Tag before Boo DAH. This is a more important Event(I'm guessing)than a regluar DAH. I know TDO is strict with MNSSHP/MVMCP, don't know about Regular DAH?

Seems like if they want to make the after hours work right, having the part close at 9pm to cut off new guests from entering the lines, then having 30 minutes to perform the fireworks, clear the lines and guests from the back of the park, then opening to after hour guests at 9:30 would help crowd flow.

When the dates and times for the Boo Bash came out yesterday, I was wondering how these times would work around the HEA times - of course assuming by August 10th, we will have the show running every night at least until October 1st.

I have been to 5 After Hours at MK since 2018 - here are the schedules for each day we went:

Mar 1 2018: Magic Kingdom Showtimes - Thursday, March 1, 2018 (touringplans.com)
Close time: 9pm
HEA: 7:55
AH: 9pm

August 4 2018: Magic Kingdom Showtimes - Saturday, August 4, 2018 (touringplans.com)
Close time: 10pm
HEA: 9:15pm
AH: 10pm

December 3 2018: Magic Kingdom Showtimes - Monday, December 3, 2018 (touringplans.com)
Close time: 10pm
HEA: 9pm
AH: 10pm

June 27 2019: Magic Kingdom Showtimes - Thursday, June 27, 2019 (touringplans.com)
Close time: 10pm
HEA: 9:15pm
AH: 10pm

Feb 24 2020: Magic Kingdom Showtimes - Monday, February 24, 2020 (touringplans.com)
Close time: 9pm
HEA: 8pm
AH: 9pm

So we can see on these 5 times, the After Hour event was scheduled NO earlier than 45 minutes after Happily Ever After was scheduled to start - and both those times was when the park closed at 10pm to the public.

Looking at a past AH event on September 12 2019: Magic Kingdom Showtimes - Thursday, September 12, 2019 (touringplans.com) HEA started at 9:15pm, the park closed and AH started at 10pm ... obviously those times don't match the Boo Bash events scheduled in September ... so I have to think, in order for there to be a minimum 45 minute gap between HEA starting and the AH event starting, MK would have to close and HEA would have to start at 8:45 on the 9:30pm Boo Bash events and 8:15 on the 9pm events.

Am I over thinking this?

Fireworks can’t really happen before 9 pm on 8/10. Not dark enough at 8:45.

Yeah that's what I was thinking ... soooo is there anything to look more into this timing decision? No fireworks?
Maybe HEA only on Non DAH nights till the 50th? Kind of like a Reg Party Season year? If we have a 50th Tag, That should run every night form 10/1 but until then?

According to here. HEA/ EF is suppoed to reopen in July...

There will be fireworks. There just won’t be 45 min after they start until DAH if they want them nightly, which I gather they do. I know they do by 10/1. They went with the 9:30 pm start to accommodate fireworks. Otherwise, why bother? It’s dark by 9 pm on 8/10.

Right so it really is either they don't run HEA on the Boo Bash After Hour days or they run HEA at 9pm on the August dates that Boo Bash starts at 9:30pm and then for the September dates, HEA runs at 8:45 and Boo Bash starts at 9pm.

I would think they will want to choose running HEA every night through September 30th.

We still don’t know for sure if there will be a 50th tag. Who knows when we will find that out.

HEA could move to 8:30 in September. It has in the past. 8 pm by October if they want.

We will find out by 9/30!

An interesting consideration for a tag: the show is long. Would they really add a few minutes or just replace something else? It’s 18 minutes. Remember...Dreams Come True was 17 minutes.

Heck! Spetro was 7:45 when the 25th Started! Was not there, so can't report on if there was light in the sky. Saw the 10/1/96 Guidemap on ebay!

Did you have to bring up Spectro 😭 lol. How dare MK celebrate a big Anniversary without a light parade. No amount of pyro in the MK sky will replace a light parade.

Light parades are allowed to run when it is kinda dusky. Fireworks need pitch black. That’s why they moved HEA to 9:15 in the summer before the world ended. They would awkwardly delay IllumiNations for like 10 min, too. It started as on-time as a Broadway show.

Different Coast but RDCT did have a July 4th Tag before Celebrate America came along. Granted it was only one night but it was the full RDCT before the 2009 cuts!
