Hey everyone!

Just arrived yesterday at WDW from Minnesota (barely escaped massive snow storm). Weather is great, but man, both MK and Epcot were wall-to-wall !

I have never seen crowds like this, there was a huge line to get on Peoplemover! Is this just free dining effect?

I don't know if it's officially why- but maybe because it's a holiday weekend? (Veterans Day) Perhaps more people traveled in for the weekend?

That's odd, it was listed as a level 3 day on touringplans. I checked all the wait times because I will be there on a "3" day next week and wanted to know what to expect. Most waits were listed as under 25 min. I guess I'll just stick to my original plan and hope your experience was some kind of a fluke! Thanks for the heads up though.

I don't think it's Veteran's Day, because last Saturday (the 6th) was the same way. We overheard several people remark that you would think it was the middle of the summer based on the crowd levels.

Isn't this the last weekend before Florida resident seasonal black out dates are in effect? Combine that with the last weekend of Food and Wine and Veteran's day and you've got a perfect storm for big crowds.

Seasonal passes arent blocked out until December 17th I believe. The large crowds may be from last weekend of F&W and many Florida schools had off Thursday and Friday for Veterans day.

Magic Kingdom was indeed busy yesterday because it was the first time all week that they were open late, plus it was Extra Magic Hours. All week long, they closed at 7 or 8pm. Tuesday, they even closed at 6:30pm. Thursday & Friday were also party nights.

Waits around 5pm were like this:
-Space Mountain: 50mins
-Dumbo: 40 minutes
-it's a small world: listed 30 minutes (from entrance point) but was using extended queue
-Peter Pan: 50 minutes
-Big Thunder Mountain: 60 mins
-Peoplemover: Walk-on
-Carousel of Progress: Walk-on
-Monster's Inc didn't look crowded.
-Stitch had a good sized group.

Expect today 11/14/2010 crowds to be primary at Epcot & Hollywood Studios for most of the day with it transitioning to Hollywood Studios & Magic Kingdom at night. Today is the last day for Food & Wine Festival. Tonight is a Fantasmic Night at Studios and it is also a back to back EMH night at Magic Kingdom.

I'd say it was packed at MK! We had 8:15a.m. ADR at Crystal Palace. We ran for the hills by 11. The park felt jam packed but the waits weren't too awful at that point. I'm wondering why the express monorail wasn't running yesterday. There were looooong lines for the ferry & the resort line at the TTC. I saw express closed yesterday morning at 7:30-ish, when we left at 11-ish, when we returned at 9:30 p.m. & when we left for the night at 1 a.m. I'm thinking Disney expected the park crunch, tho, with the regular park hours until 11 & EMH until 2 a.m.

Chiming in to say that Epcot was packed yesterday. We arrived at 6pm and they were directing cars to the very back of the Explore lot.

I wonder how much of the crowds are due to the fact that Disney is hosting the PGA tour this weekend.

Ugh, be glad you made it out. What a wet disaster... Shoveling the plow dump was a pain in the <bleep>.

Anyway, enjoy the trip! Crowds will fall over the week I'm sure. We're heading down 12/11, can't wait.

We arrived on the Sat. the 6th, and crowds were quite heavy. During this last week, it was great. More than one occasion we had the bus to ourselves and walked on many rides. Thursday saw alot of traffic coming into Pop, with Friday heavier and Saturday, WOW, the food court Sat. morning was packed. Every table was full at around 9:00 a.m. I was glad to be heading home, but I sure miss the weather.....

Also talked to a nice couple here on a weekend trip who attempted to go to Epcot for F&W yesterday. They said it was a madhouse. I asked about the numerous inebriated folks I've been hearing about and they agreed that factor was pretty bad, too. We decided to avoid Epcot until F&W is over. Just doesn't sound like the thing to do with the kids. Sounds more like a huge nightclub environment. Ya know?

Hi all,

Saturday must have been a fluke, yesterday (11/14) was much better!

We hit Animal Kingdom and Epcot and crowds were MUCH lower.

Kidd Kraddick, a radio DJ, does a benefit called Kidd's Kids. Every year they take terminally and chronically ill children to WDW for a week. This trip gives them a chance to be normal for a few days. I don't know if this is why the parks are busy, but it may be affecting it. But once I saw their reaction to everything, it would be worth it to me.

We were there the 12th-14th, and I can attest to the crowd level. We planned this short trip more than a month ago, when 'Touring Plans' listed the crowd level at 1. We attributed the huge crowds to Veterans' Day, which created a 4-day weekend for many. Epcot and Magic Kingdom were out of control. We tried to hang in there for the extra magic hours at the Magic Kingdom Saturday night, but we could barely traverse the crowds.
Sweetpee_1993, avoiding the F&W festival was the right thing to do. When we were there, we saw one too many people behaving badly. We saw an intoxicated man harassing a couple of the festival workers, quite a few drunk/obnoxious people in line with us every time we stopped at a kiosk...and to top it all off we saw a guy __________________ in a trash can just outside Epcot's gates (between AAA parking and the ticket center) as what I assume to be his girlfriend laughed and took pictures.
I hope things get better, and I hope you all who are going soon have a much better trip with decent crowds (both in quantity and quality!) We will hopefully take another short trip in December :)

I hear ya! Not looking forward to the return.

We had a flight Sat morning at 7:00am, it took them 45 minutes to clear the snow off the plane, then when they were done, too much snow had re-accumulated and they had to do it again....but the trucks ran out of fluid, so they had to find other trucks with fluid, they also said they might have to return to the gate to re-fuel...and they said they might have to shut the runway down due too much snow.

But alas, 2 more trucks showed up, cleared the snow, applied the de-icing stuff and we took off......as you can imagine, there was a great sense of relief as we left cruel Minnesota behind! :sohappy:

I found that during our trip last March 10- 17 that TouringPlans dot coms crowd calendar was way off. Also found that it was way off on a trip in the first week of February, I subscribe to touring plans its cheap, we can get the crowd calendar 1 year ahead but it seems that its not accurate anymore, 2 trips now there info was not accurate at all. (I often wonder how they can guess anyways)
