Parking Question

I read on another thread about a AAA parking pass that gets you closer to the parks. Before I go to AAA to check things out further, I have a question and hope someone here knows! I've read that parking fees do still apply though. If someone in our party has an annual pass and would then get free parking, could we use their free parking with the AAA pass? :veryconfu

In order to get access to the AAA parking, you need to book your vacation through AAA. (It may even have to be a vacation package, I'm not sure) Simply being a AAA member is not good enough, nor is booking a room-only reservation with the AAA discount through Disney's reservation line. It *has* to be booked through AAA.

The AAA parking (and access to it) is a separate matter from the parking fee. It only applies to your parking once you get INTO the parking lot. You still have to get into the lot, whether for free as a Disney resort Guest or Annual Passholder, or by paying the daily fee as an off-site Guest.

But be aware that sometimes the AAA parking isn't exactly as convenient as you'd think. At the TTC/MK parking, the tram doesn't stop at the AAA parking area. You have to walk into the TTC. While it's one of the closest parking areas to the TTC itself, the regular parking areas could possbly be deemed "more convenient" because you can get a parking tram right from the end of your row.

Zipper, just got back from 8 days at the park and our 4th trip...we always use the AAA diamond parking pass....it allows you to park within very reasonable walking distance to all the parks...in most cases you are adjacent to the handicap parking....best lots are EPCOT and DHS...AK is ok...and the TA lot is not bad...no waiting for Trams and then walking to the car...

Also you can go on EBAY and pick up an AAA Diamond parking pass without having to book your trip through AAA...make sure you get the Full Color pass if you do this, we just used on I bought off EBAY and it was perfectly legit....

You do still pay for parking

Thanks!

I did know you have to book some sort of package through AAA, which we will most likely be doing. I was just worried that you would have to pay for parking if you wanted to use the diamond lot, even if you had something to make it free. A friend coming along has an AP, but I guess we'd get free parking by being on WDW property anyway. Thanks for clearing that up!

Is this only good for one trip?

An regular AP, premium AP or being a Disney Resort guest will get you free parking. A seasonal AP does not.

I believe the pass is good through the end of the calendar year.
