Parking options for Electric Water Pageant?

I'm thinking the Electric Water Pageant would be fun to see, since we have never seen it.

Because we are staying offsite, and would probably be going on a non-park day, and we are frugal (cheapskates) I hesitate to pay $20 to park at the TTC just for the EWP. Are there free options that are legitimate (that is, I will not lie about what I am doing).

1) Is it likely that if I show up at one of the monorail resorts and tell the parking attendant that I'd like to see the ELP that they would let me park (at least until any proposed resort parking fees get implemented)?
2) Is it likely that if I show up at the TTC booths that late (8:00 or so?) they would be unmanned?
3) Is there some other approved option of which I am not aware?
4) Should I just pay to park at TTC because it is totally worth it?

You could park at Disney Springs and then take a bus to Magic Kingdom. You aren't getting into TTC without paying, sorry.

1. No
2. Possibly, depending on what time MK closes
3. If you have a late ADR at one of the monorail restaurants (or WL) you would be allowed to park at the resort
4. While the EWP is cute and classic old-school Disney, it is not "totally worth it" to pay $20 to see it IMO. It is a less than 10 minute experience.

what about doing dinner at Trails End and walking out to the beach there to see. you would have to take bus from one end of campground to the other and back. I would not pay to park just to see it but love it. not sure if you could park and just see it at the Fort

Thanks for the idea. I'll look into that but suspect the buffet would be more expensive than we'd want to spend to avoid parking (family of 6 so everything multiplies, etc.).
