Parking for Chef Mickey's

We have an 7:05a ADR at Chef Mickey's the day we plan to tour Magic Kingdom. My plan was to eat breakfast then make it to MK for rope drop at 9a. At first I thought we could park at the MK lot and ride the monorail over, but just discovered that the monorail doesn't start running until 7a. Will we have enough time after breakfast to drive to the MK lot from the Contemporary and still make rope drop? I'm doubtful.

If you are at Chef Mickey's at 7 a.m. so that you are seated on time, you should still have plenty of time to eat (figure an hour), move your car and make it to MK by 9 a.m. An option would be to send your family to MK when you are done, move the car, and meet up with them later. One person can maneuver a lot faster than a group can, so even if breakfast takes longer not everyone would need to miss park opening.

Oh great idea @Tuvalu. We'll be a large party of 11, so we'll be in two vehicles, but I think if we assign two people to park while the rest of us head to the MK, it would work. So I now I wonder what the most efficient way to get to the MK from the Contemporary is? I'm unfamiliar with that resort, so I don't know if you can walk.

My main concern is that this will be our only day in MK, so I'm trying to be super efficient with our time. Since I'm coordinating with several people, I was delayed in selecting FP+, so we were unable to grab a times for 7DMT. I'm hoping if we can get there at opening, we can hightail it to Fantasyland.

You can walk from the Contemporary to the MK ~ for many people, this 10 minute walk is the way to go. We, however, love the monorail and never pass up an opportunity to ride it. The monorail is a novelty, especially for first time visitors. Though I have never timed it, even with the stops (TTC, Poly, GF) it is not much longer than making the walk.

The wait time sign for 7DMT will say 45 minutes (or higher) even if your party gets there right at rope drop. Do not let this discourage you; we have gotten in the line as late as 9:30 and have never waited more than 35-40 minutes (assuming the ride is operational...we once waited 35 minutes and they could not get the ride to start up, so we were given a paper pass to come back later in the day.)
