Park Touring Strategies

This thread is where you can post how you tour the parks and the most effective touring strategies. I thought this might be helpful to those planning their park touring strategies. It can be for any park and for any events such as regular day or a Special Event like MVMCP and MNSSHP. So let's get started!

Here is what I did for MK and it worked wel

I got Fastpass + for SM, JC, & Pirates for later in the day.
We arrived at opening and walked to Splash Mt. A walk on.
Then to BTMR also a short wait.
Then HM.
We worked our way forward in the park getting in Hall of Pres., the Bears, Philharmagic, and so on. We did lunch at quick service where we were at and then used our FP+ for our allotted times. In between we got to go to the attractions we wanted such as Laugh floor, CoP, and so on.

It worked very well for us using the FP+ in this manner.

This was our touring strategy pre-FP+ but we try to stick to this:
Enter MK, hop on the train to Frontierland. Grab a FP for BTMRR or Splash and ride the other while waiting for the FP return time. (If need to kill time, hop over to Tom Sawyer Island). Use FP. Hop the train over to Fantasyland. If no lines, ride the Barnstormer. Go to Space and grab a fastpass. Go on Laugh Floor and Stitch. Grab FP for Buzz. Ride Space then Peoplemover and Carousel of Progress. Time for Buzz! Walk through the hub and grab a FP for Peter Pan. Ride Philharmagic. Time for lunch at Columbia Harbor House. See Hall of Presidents and, if time allows, Country Bears and/or Tiki birds before going back to Peter Pan. Head back to the resort to rest, change. Late afternoon, head back to MK and ride Jungle Cruise, Pirates, (maybe a detour to BTMRR) Haunted Mansion, IASW, Carousel (no line, no waiting). With the introduction of New Fantasyland, now is also the best time to see Storytime with Belle and Ariel. If short line, hop on Winnie the Pooh. Head back to Buzz to defeat the evil Zurg!

If I'm going to use any plan at all, I get one from touringplans.com

I like to be able to check off exactly what I want to do and have it spit out the fastest way to do just those things.

But I only do this when someone visits Orlando and wants to do as much as humanly possible, which is rare.

Mostly I just wander around and do a few things and leave. :)

For MK, we go into the park at rope drop and begin with Adventureland and work our way around the park ending in Tomorrowland. Only ride we FP is Buzz. Splash is usually shut when were there. Catch the 3:00 parade and unless were staying for the fireworks, headout.
