Park to park for one day

Hey all, we will be driving over for a day trip to Universal on January 1, which I expect to be busy. Considering that express passes are not budget possible (family of five, ouch), and considering that lines will likely be long, AND considering we only have a day - is it even worth it to do the park to park ticket, or should we just focus on one park this time? It’s a first visit. Thanks!

Have you looked at the cost of a deluxe hotel for one night. EPs are included in the cost of the room as well as EMH. That said maybe it's not worth it as a first trip

Yes, the cheapest is $650, which brings the cost of a single day at a single park to over $1,200 - closer to $1,600 for PTP with it. And while I could technically afford it, it seems insane to spend that on one day at one park. Thanks though!

I don’t think that’s really a tough decision is it? With the attraction lineups it seems like Islands of Adventure is a no-brainer.
