Park Tickets Pick Up Question

I rented DVC points in November for a 9 night stay at AKL in September. I purchased our park tickets through Disney's website in July. When I purchased the tickets I chose the "will call" option for pick up. It says we need to pick up our tickets at the front gate of one of the theme parks?

In the past when we booked room and tickets as a package through Disney our tickets were either on the KTTW card or MB when we checked in. No extra step of going to a front gate.

I guess I am just confused as to why we need to pick the tickets up at a park just because we booked our room and tickets separate this time? I was able to link the tickets to MDE does this make a difference?

When you buy tickets they really have no way of knowing when you plan on actually using them, whether you're on-site or not, etc. So the system simply defaults to telling you to pick them up at the park.

If you'll be on-site and have linked both the hotel reservation and the tickets to everyone's profiles, there's no need to stop at Will Call. Your Magic Bands will be able to access your tickets just fine.

Oh okay, that kind of makes sense. Good news overall. I knew we had to go to "will call" for our MNSSHP tickets like we did last time... but I'd rather not do it our first morning but later in the trip before the party. I know we'll be so excited that first full day we will just want to get in as soon as possible! Thank you for your answer!
