Park reservation not included with admission

Can someone tell me why a park reservation is not automatically included when you purchase a park admission ticket for that specific day? Just realized day before trip that you have to make a reservation separately after buying the ticket. I know it’s my fault for not reading everything but common sense only says that if I picked a particular day that I would want a reservation with my ticket. Vacation ruined.

Can someone help me with a question? How do you go about reserving a park? After I book my vacation package is there a separate page to go on to to book park reservations or do I do it while I'm booking my package I appreciate any help this part's all new to me

Here is the direct link: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/park-reservations/ This link is found under "My Disney Experience" and titled "Disney Park Pass System." Just click on make a park pass reservation and you are good to go from there.

I don’t think the system requires you to reserve park admission at time of purchase because lots of people haven’t made up their minds at that point. However, it probably would be helpful if at the 60 day mark, when you can begin to reserve dining, an additional reminder email went out to people who had not selected parks yet, saying “We noticed you didn’t reserve your park admission yet. Here’s how you do that.” I’ve made my reservations for September, but there was a gap between time of purchase and park reservations, so I could get the rest of the family’s input.

I don't know how you missed the park reservation detail. I have received 2 emails and a push notification about it when I booked. Plus it's the first thing that you see on your MDE my plans page. Things are different now with what is going on. It's important to do your research. Sorry.

An email may sound logical, but at the 60 day mark, there may not be certain parks available. If you look to June, HS is not available for most of the month. I feel that folks should book HS right after booking the trip since that is the park that runs out of reservations the quickest, then MK; there is more wiggle room with AK and especially Epcot since it is so large and it seems to be the park that some folks skip on a trip (not sure why, as I love it!). It is easier to switch from HS to another park than the other way around.
