Park Questions

I have been to WDW several times but not since '99. In the past the grandkids were younger so we always skipped Epcot. Also there are a couple of new things I don't understand. The kids are 12 and 9. With that all being said here's my questions:

1. There are 2 "Worlds" in Epcot. I really don't understand? What are the differences? Could someone explain?

2. I have the park hopper tickets so I know they are good for Disney Quest. Is there any extra fees to play the games?

3. What the heck is E-Ride. I keep hearing that but don't have a clue as to what it is?

1. EPCOT is divided into Future World and World Showcase
Future World contains the bulk of the rides including Test Track, Mission Space, and Spaceship Earth
World Showcase has pavilions representing countries from around the world. Each pavillion has authentic architecture, and cast members from that country. Some pavillions have rides, some have movies, one has an Animatronic Show, some just have restaurants and shops. I'm guessing the kids will love Future World and the Adults will love World Showcase.

2. DisneyQuest has rides and video games inside. You don't have to pay for the rides, you have to pay for the video games. Rides include a rollercoaster simulator, an inflatable boat which you paddle down a virtual river, a pirate ship which you fire cannons at virtual ships, and bumpercars which you fire real balls at the other cars and if you hit them they spin.

3. An E-Ride is the best ride. When WDW opened you used to buy ticket books to go on the rides and E-Tickets were the best. Small World, Pirates, Space Mountain would be examples of E-Tickets now. Although the tickets aren't used any more, they are a handy indication on how good a ride is. E-Ride nights, are special events at the Magic Kingdom, in which you pay an extra amount of money on top of your ticket, and can stay in the park for a few hours after normal closing to ride the E-Rides.

DisneyQuest is included in the Ultimate parkhopper pass (the one you get at the resort for the length of your stay) but not the 5, 6, or 7 day parkhopper plus passes.

Yes, it is only included in the Ultimate Park Hopper ticket, or the 10Day World Ticket.

Otherwise it is around the $30 mark on the gate.

Yes, I have the ultimate park hopper. I just booked the trip yesterday for Oct. Soooo kinda excided about going. Got an offer I couldn't refuse. Both from WDW and Spirit Air. Thanks for all the good info. Anymore tips for kids would be appreciated.

Actually, the only video games you have to pay for are the ones that spit out tickets that you can then turn in for cheapy prizes (like a carnival midway). Th regular video games are unlimited free play. I remember the last time I went, I had way too much fun in the erea that had all the 80's retro video games (Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Spy Hunter, Q-Bert, Burgertime, Pole Position, Centipede....). It was like I was transported back to my youth when I hung out at the old video arcade all the time. I think I hogged the Centipede game (my fave)for maybe a half hour because I was doing so well. :lol:

Park Hopper PLUS passes do include Admission to Disney Quest as a PLUS along with Pleasure Island, Wide World of Sports, Bliz Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (each admission counts as a PLUS).

Standard Park Hopper passes do not have these as options.

The 7day parkhopper plus pass I bought last year does not include DisneyQuest. Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, and Disney's Wide World of Sports are the only visits covered. Tried going to Disneyquest this last May, was told it wasn't a plus feature. Check your ticket holder cover.

I've just noticed a 7 Day Park Hopper Plus With DisneyQuest! My there are lots of varations on these tickets!
