Park Memories!

Well for the first couple of trips we took to Disney, at the time we couldnt afford a video camera, and cell phones that video were not in existence then, so we had no way of recording things. I have three full photo albums of pictures that I treasure. Really love looking at and reminiscing over those older photos. One favorite memory of that very first trip was of my sons expression and excitement when he first saw and ran up to put his arms around Mickey.

I wish I wish ( closing my eyes ) that children wouldn't grow up as quick as they do.Last night I watched our first vacation DVD in 2004. My DS was then just 6 years old and very small( he's now 15 years and 5ft 11" ) But he was picked out in the front row of " Festival of the Lion King " So there he was, bold as brass, doing the lion roar on the floor. He's now that shy its unbelievable. Anyway,it remains one of our favourite memories at WDW.Now when we were at The Lion King last year in AK,he made sure we were sitting wayyyy back from the stage. What are your favourite memories from the parks.? :)

I know what you mean. Just watched a clip of one of my sons battling Darth Vader at HS from our first trip about 6 years ago. I guess he was about 10, same age that my youngest is now. We have 3 teens (15, 16, & almost 17) so I really miss those days. I think about that all the time. :(

Would it sound too cliché to say our whole trip was simply magical? It would be the best way to describe it though. So many fond memories and unexpected surprises.
We were at the Toronto airport waiting to board when a friendly lady spoke to us and told us our plane had been switched to another gate at the far end of the airport but they had not posted the switch as yet. We had plenty of time to spare so we collected our carry-on's and off we walked. Another young lady and her daughter (4yrs old, same age as my daughter) were heading back home to Orlando so they walked with us and the children ended up playing together in the lobby while us adults had quite a pleasant conversation until it was time to board the plane. As it turned out this young lady and her 4 year old daughter were returning home from visiting her husband who was in the military and stationed over in Korea. The daughter had only met her daddy the first year of her young life, so really this was her very first time meeting her father. It was a touching story, and DW and I spoke on the plane how it's the little things in life we often take for granted.
I didn't end up getting to see the Haunted Mansion during our trip. So what? I can always make another trip back to Disney World. At least I had my family with me. So I have a LOT of pleasant memories of our trip that will last a lifetime, but perhaps the most meaningful will be the one that happened before we even left home.

My sister got snatched by one of the Ninja Turtles. Apparently they were going to bring her on stage or something; Michaelangelo took her by the hand, turned and started going back to the stage.

Needless to say my mother was less than pleased, and ran after him. Tried tapping him on the shell to say no, but he didn't respond until she grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

I have so many fantastic memories at the parks, but one of the most magical was back in August when there was barely anyone in line for Star Tours and my best friend and I, who are obsessed with the ride, ended up having an entire cabin to ourselves. It was so cool. :)
I gave you your first like.congratulations,a fairy gets her wings tonight.;)

I remember one really slow day back in Setember 84 I was sitting in Fantasy Land taking a quick break and Cinderella walked up to me and just started talking to me! I miss the Characters just walkking around pre-autograph book days!
Yes, I remember those days as well. One of my favorite memories as a child was running down one of the side entrances to the castle and literally running into Mickey. He spent a minute or two with our family without any crowds around us. Very special.

Sometimes it is the little things that really do it for me sometimes it does not have to be my family either. Last trip there was a kid in a wheel chair that was pretty bad off. He was dresses like Prince meeting all the princesses it was a shed a tear kinda thing. I felt the magic of Disney when he had a huge smile on his face.

this is a bittersweet memory for me. But in june of 05, my family and i unexpectedly lost our 11 year old yorkie, Minnie (take a guess who she was named after?). She passed on a thursday night. The next day, my mom, stepdad and I decided we just couldn't bear to be in the house. So thanks to some wonderful cm's over at DVC, we were able to get a reservation and a flight from that friday night through monday night.

So we went down, and my stepdad had to keep it together cause my mom and I were wrecks. Well we were at crystal palace for lunch one day, and my mom and I at the same time started crying thinking about Minnie. Just then, Tigger came by, and he would not stop horsing around with us and poking us until he had all 3 of us cracking up. I mean, he was at our table for a good 15 minutes. That was an amazing but once again, bittersweet memory

I've got a LOT @real mad hatter!!!

Our First Trip - Right after getting to WDW, getting checked in, we had ADR's at 1900th Park Fare and the Evil Stepmother chose Brendan for her waltz around the place! I still have the pics with the giant smile on his face! He got his very first kiss from one of the stepsisters....LOL

Our Second Trip - Logan being tall enough to ride Dinosaur. He was SOOOO excited, and then the sheer terror on his face when it was over....LOL Poor guy.

Brendan got pulled in to dance by the Fall Festival singers (not sure if thats their name), and Bren just loved that.

I have so many others buuuut need to go get my kiddos from school! :D

While I don't have any children yet, I have certain memories that stand out. They are memories that just make you realize how magical the place is and how great of a place it is.

One of my all time favorite, but also one of my sadder memories is on our last night at the parks I was walking down Main Street USA while SpectoMagic was going on. It was just such a magical moment, walking down the most magical street on earth, listening to the music of the parade. Then at the end of the street I turned to look back at the castle. It was so sad knowing that I wouldn't set foot in a Disney park for a while, but yet still so magical.

When I was 7, I drew a picture of the castle with fireworks going off and stuff. I remember holding on to the picture all the way until we got MK and then once we finally got to see Mickey, I ran up to him and hugged him and handed it too him. I was so happy and excited!
Another one was in 2011 (14 then) and after eight years of wishing that one day me and my best friend would go together, We did and had a blast!

I remember my son was 5 (he's 20 now!) and we had a character breakfast with Pocahontas. She was so pretty and he was beet red the whole time. She kissed him on the cheek. He got to dance with the characters. He had a great time. (Come to think of it, my husband rather enjoyed it too!!)

My favorite memory? I have a few but one that stands out is the first time we took our daughter, she was 5. It was the end of the night and we wanted to watch Wishes. We sat in the middle of the street and my husband stood behind us. The music was playing and fireworks going off and she had her arm thru mine with her little head on my shoulder and we were both crying. It was so beautiful. Now she is 16 and I sure hope I can get her to sit in the middle of the street with me again.

The park was closing and me and my friends had been at Disney's Hollywood Studios for about 12 hours. We wanted Tower of Terror to be our last ride and I was dying to ride it at night (never ridden it at night before) and the queue was completely empty. It was so creepy and ominous and it was just the perfect experience, considering how big of a Tower of Terror fan I am. There was finally some more people in the library and in the boiler room. We asked the CM if we could be front row, and he granted us our wish and we took our seats. The ride was great and once the drop cycle began, it was even more perfect because everything was pitch black dark. However, on the final drop, a flash occurred, illuminating a figure (statue) that stood what seemed like inches away from our elevator. It was just for a second, but we all screamed so loud that my throat hurt just from that one scream. It was the perfect ride on Tower of Terror and we all frantically talked about how great it was and how scary that figure was.

Not to get off topic, but are there statues in the drop shaft? I might have just not noticed this effect before while riding during the day. It sure was creepy.
