Park hours seem early for the summer

We have only went to WDW one time in the summer. We were there in June. Magic Kingdom was open almost every night until midnight and even later. Looking at the park hours for June it seems that the hour of operation are closing early.

This year we are going in July and are hoping that the hours for July are late. We like to swim during the day and go to the parks for the night. The kids liked being in the park ar 1 in the morning it did not seem crowded at that time.

Are the park hours for July usually later than June?

Disney has taken to posting shorter hours initially and then extending them as required. The public are generally happy when park hours are extended and complain vociferously if they are reduced.

What is up with the hours? I am going next month and the calendar lists hours for the parks that are different than what is on the official site. What gives?

The park hours on WDWMagic are usually more reliable than the official calendars (they can lag), so sit tight.

It's also a logistical nightmare on Disney's part to reduce park hours after they're published, especially when restaurants are concerned. If they were to book people at table service restaurants based on longer hours, and then reduce the operating day by an hour or two, that could cause headaches for people who now have reservations later than park closing time...
