Park hopper vs base tickets

When I go for an 8 day trip, I usually get park hopper tickets but find that I usually only go to multiple parks on only one or two days. Can't see spending all the extra $$$ for park hoppers in this case. So, I want to get a 9 or 10 day base ticket and use two different tickets on the 1 or 2 days I park hop. This is much cheaper than getting park hoppers. But is it allowed? I've gotten conflicting advice from two CM's. One says no, you can't go to multiple parks on two different base tickets in a single day and another says you can. Anyone know the answer?

Nope, you can not do this. Remember it is a 10 day ticket not a 10 park ticket. If you want to park hop you have to get the park hoping option.

Yeah...the computers only allow one entry per ticket per day. If you enter a park and want to go to a different one you need a park hopper or two separate tickets.

I can tell you that I have used single day tickets at multiple parks in the same day many, many times and have never had problems. They do however need to be seperate physical tickets. You can't have 1 ticket with 5 days on it, and use it more than once a day. However, in cases like that, if you go to the customer service window and ask nicely, they will usually break your single physical ticket into multiple physical tickets. I've only had that request refused once out of about 15 times, and I just went to customer service at another park and they were happy to do it.

I use to get the park hopper also but then only ever hopped one day out of the whole trip. Its just not worth the value to me anymore. I can easily spend a whole day at one park and be content. But, thats just me! To each his own

That's interesting. I feel like they would be very against doing this since it completely disregards the ticketing system that they currently have in place.

Yep, thats one of those.....SHHH! they arent supposed to know about that loophole.

I have to amend my previous post, i was basing that opinion on a single ticket with say 9 days on it. (it can be used for ONE park per day.)
But YES, you CAN get that ONE ticket broken up into say, 9 tickets "days"...and as stated MOST of the time, use it as a "park hopper"
But, if you are staying for say 7 days, you'd need a 10 day ticket broken up to get you the extra 3 park options of "hopping".

I'm very sceptical about them breaking a ticket down into smaller days - not only is it against the ticketing policy but there is the cost element as well - two 5 day tickets cost more thean one 10 day ticket
