Park Hopper Express vs. Uber/Lyft?

Hello!

My husband and I are going on a 3 day park hopping adventure in October. Most of our time will be spent at Food & Wine but we will also be heading over to the other parks on various days. My primary concern for this trip (since it's to celebrate our 25th anniversary) is about saving time, as opposed to money.

I'd already decided we'd go from park to park via Uber or Lyft mostly, to cut down on travel time. But now that I'm reading about the Express Transportation buses, I'm wondering if it's worth spending the extra $60 for three days or if we'd get from park to park just as quickly by hiring a car.

I'm also wondering how much the difference in walking would be since the stops are in the park instead of outside. Since we expect to be packed to the gills with food and wine every day, we probably won't have too much energy left to expend on unnecessary foot steps!

Has anyone used the two options that could give some input? How about anyone who has just used the car services? Can you compare it to standard WDW transportation options?

The main benefits of the express buses are you don't have to go through security when hopping and for MK you can use the bus loop (Uber and Lyft drop off at the TTC)

If it was me I'd probably just pay for express but I've never done a lot of hopping so maybe rideshares are way better.

It seems the Express Transportation Option for Single Day ($19) or Multi-Day ($29) is a convenience cost. It depends on your priorities as well as budget. Uber or Lyft (Minnie Vans $20 Flat Rate) or other cars might be more economical (not including Minnie Vans).

Overall:
Express ($19-29) No security check-ins
Minnie Vans ($20 Flat Rate) Includes tour guide as well as child seats. Ordered through Lyft.
Uber/Lyft: (Depends on Distance) Economical but require security check-ins at destination.

I agree with all of the above. I just got back from a trip and we used Express and loved it. We only used it a couple of times within our 5 day trip but we thought it was still so worth it. Both times we used it we had the entire bus to ourselves.

If you're planning park hopping, especially on high crowd days, express transportation is the way to go. The time savings avoiding having to re-clear security each time will more than make up for the cost.
