Touch surfaces are Not the danger we once though.
NEWS REPORT :The virus spreads mainly from person to person, rather than via contaminated surfaces, according to the C.D.C. For those who were worried about wiping down grocery bags or disinfecting mailed packages, the news headlines highlighting this guidance in recent days might have brought some relief.

How is all this going to effect wait times.......
I wonder.....all the proper wiping down of ride vehicles would really slow things down.

ANOTHER REPORT : The new coronavirus "does not spread easily" from touching surfaces or objects, according to updated wording on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) website.

It should still be done in a park scenario......coughing and sneezing on a handle bar given to thousands more riders within the hour could be bad news.

The report still says......an infected persons may spread the virus by sneezing or coughing on a surface and then the next person touches their mouth, nose or even eyes.
I think it's really false to say that surfaces will not spread the virus.

I guess Im 'grasping at straws' trying to make myself fell better. But by going right away in July, I'm hoping it will be the cleanest and safest, before complacency sets in and protocols get relaxed.

I thought the world had already realized that the CDC was full of crap half the time and stopped listening to them along with WHO. Remember the CDC has changed its tune on most everything to the point that it is now clear they were never engaged in actual dissemination of useful information but rather we engaged in dissemination of misinformation to manipulate the public. When the scientist have devised a vaccine for the virus or have at the very least come up with a cure then I will believe that there is enough known about the virus for someone to make a statement as to how long it can exist on a surface or how it can or can't be transferred until that time I think I would rather believe in the Easter Bunny than anything a government agency spouts off.

Well the key is whether they properly wipe down a ride vehicle or just wipe a damp cloth over it for show and move on. I have a sneaking feeling that they won't be using anything that would actually kill a virus as it would be rather dangerous... You have what, alcohol based products that are flammable or you have bleach based products that have noxious fumes and would be doing a number on the clothing of guests that got on the rides. If you go, just assume that you are going to get infected and if that doesn't bother you have a good time. Otherwise get ready for a rude surprise a week or so after you start your trip.

I used to get sick (cold/virus) almost every time I'd go on an airplane.

Then I started using disinfectant wipes and would wipe down the seat/seatbelt/touch surfaces before sitting down. Haven't been sick after traveling in several years now.

Shared common-touch surfaces are disgusting - and if there is ONE thing that I hope stays from covid-19 it is enhanced hygiene.
