Parasailing Vs Fishing Excursion;

Has anyone ever done the the parasailing and/or the catch and release fishing excursion at WDW?
For our upcoming trip, we decided that each family member (DW, DS and I) would each get a day where we got to pick the restaurant for dinner and one “special” thing to do, everything else is by mutual agreement.
My wife chose the Luau for dinner and riding in a NASCAR. My choices are more sedate, I want to have dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and explore the Boardwalk, something we have never done.
My eleven year old son chose Morocco for dinner; he wants to see the belly dancer. He considers himself too old for the Pirate Adventures and is contemplating either parasailing or the fishing excursion. Personally I think he is too young for parasailing and I can’t see how fishing in a lake in Florida is much different that fishing in a lake in Massachusetts, however, a deal is a deal. If anyone has any experiences they would like to share to help him decide we would be most grateful.

Thank You

I'm not sure about the parasailing for your son, but I can tell you that you prob. won't be too impressed with fishing in disney lakes. We have alot of great places in florida to fish, but i don't think disney is one of them.

My daughter (12 yrs. old) and I tandem parasailed and we loved it! I think she would have been just fine on her own, but I wanted us to do it together. The crew are incredibly friendly and very reassuring to the first time participants. I don't know anything about the fishing excursions so I can't compare experiences.

We have done the fishing trip, and I think even though the parasailing would be exciting, after it was over that would be it, but because the fishing lasts for 2 hours, I don't think you'd be in the air for that amount of time. The guides that take you out are BASS certified members and know the waters of WDW very well, we went in Nov, and were able to catch 5 pretty nice bass, it was alot of fun for my sons and I, go for the fising, and if it's during the morning go for the earliest time so it's not too hot and the fish will be more active, good luck
