Paradise Pier or DL Hotel

For me honestly I opted out of all three hotels and booked a hotel off-site. It's just that none of them had anything really special and were very overpriced.

For almost half the price you can sleep in good hotels that are just as close.

But yeah, if I had enough money I would try one of them :)

Yeah, to be totally honest, unless you're staying at the Grand Californian the main value you get from staying at the other two is access to Magic Mornings. DL Hotel is definitely a lot spiffier now due to the recent renovation, but it's still a far cry from the deluxe or even moderate resorts at WDW. Plus, it's just a quick monorail ride away if you wanted to walk the grounds or grab a bite to eat there. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, you can stay even closer to the gate and save a ton of $$$ by grabbing a room at the Best Western across the street.

I've stayed at all three....A one bedroom villa and a regular room at the Grand Californian, a room at the DL Hotel and twice at the PP. The villa was gorgeous, but no view....same at DL Hotel. At PP we had a DCA view. Believe it or not, that was our favorite. It was also the least expensive of all.

As of now, we are just going to stay at PP. I dont thing id switch to GC. we just werent that impressed compared to WL, GF, or even AKL at WDW. DL is still possible, but I think id like to try PP because its new to us.

I just got back from a 5 night stay at the PPH with a theme park view room. We LOVED it!! Being able to sit on our bed watching World of Color was worth the money (it was cheaper for us to stay in a theme park view room at PPH than a standard view at GC). For the people who don't think it's "Disney" enough- there's a giant statue of Goofy when you walk in the lobby, a Mickey lamp in the room, as well as a huge retro poster of Donald. The rooms are very spacious, beds super comfy, and the bathroom was very nice.

Being frequent WDW vets, we didn't think the walk to the parks was far at all. It was especially nice to use the GC entrance into DCA. Also, walking through the GC all the time was a beautiful experience! I would highly highly recommend staying there!
