Paradise Park

I like the idea, I remember a while back after DCA opened, i did a quick sketch and realized that they actually could have fit most of New orleans square in the north west corner area and still be able to include a good chunk of the Pirates how building. That is what they should have done during the remodel. A seaside village with shops and a fun family ride. To help with sitelines and better use of the land they could have gone verticle and created a usable second floor with a nice dining experience that overlooked the busy village below
If I’m not mistaken there was a play area that was shaped like a boat that kids could roam and play around in.

yea that was the Mcdonalds water play area that was built for opening day. that was about the only themed piece in that ugly part of the park. The rest was the Ugly spaceship themed Mcdonalds building and the charmless eating area

So what is Disney going to do if we decide to split the state in three at the next election? They could name it Disney Tri-State Area Adventure.

As fun as it is to imagine it, that wouldn't happen. Even if its voted on and approved, it'd still have to go through all the legal hurdles which will be many, and then get approval from Congress and good luck with that. Plus it doesn't address the concerns of which are outlined in that article which are the infrastructure and schools, both of which are part of federal funding.

Something more than four restaurants and a preview center

I mean personally for me an attraction would be nice. But the poster made it seem like there isn't a themed area where SF is represented, and that clearly isn't true. In reality I really would like to move away from specific CA areas represented anyways.

I keep imagining we could make that area the Embacadaro of San Francisco with some work (and Mystic Manor replacing sky school and the 2 dining locations). Add this to renaming the Wharf to Pier 39 and we are on the way to a VERY tiny San Francisco salute (finally ) in the park.

San Francisco has always been the greatest missed opportunity at DCA - the combination of the history and the myths around that city are unique. It could really provide a thematic counterpart to New Orleans Square.

I don't think that renaming the wharf makes a lot of sense - the wharf area isn't San Francisco any more than Condor Flats was Buena Vista Street. These are really different places with their own themes to explore.

Originally there were plans for an Earthquake ride to go in the San Francisco buildings but that got scrapped. Then they wanted to create a DCA version of Innoventions with northern California tech companies but no one (not even Apple) wanted to support it. Therefore the buildings were left empty and eventually turned into an arcade followed by restrooms.

Earthquake was in USO actually.

I used to love WDW's Catastrophe Canyon. That would simulate an earthquake really well. I used to love watching it all go back together as you were leaving.
