Parades at Disneyland during December

We are heading to DLR the first week of December for our first non-Adventures by Disney trip. How do the parades work during December? Do they replace the afternoon parade with the Christmas parade? Will we get to see Paint the Night? When we were there in February with Adventures by Disney, the only nighttime show that was going was Fantasmic. We would love to see the new Paint the Night parade when we are there but not sure how it works with the Christmas parade.

We would love to see the new Paint the Night parade when we are there but not sure how it works with the Christmas parade.

Typically, A Christmas Fantasy Parade replaces the regular day parade, Soundsational, from mid-November to early January.

Paint the Night and Disneyland Forever fireworks are scheduled to run nightly for the duration of the Diamond Celebration, which will last until sometime in 2016, so you will get to see both if you wish. World of Color - Celebrate! will also run nightly for the entire celebration. Pixar Play Parade continues at DCA during the holiday season, and Viva Navidad is added (more of a street party in one place than a parade).

So - this December, expect to see A Christmas Fantasy Parade, Paint the Night, Disneyland Forever and on some nights, Fantasmic, on the entertainment schedule during your visit.

Parade show times may be altered the first weekend of December due to the Candlelight Processional, but I imagine they will figure out a way to still present Paint the Night on those two nights.

Thanks so much for the input. We are going from the 6-12 so I think we will miss the processional since we won't be hitting any parks on the Sunday we arrive. Planning to do the parks between Monday and Friday. Looks like we will get to take part in not only the Christmas celebration but the Diamond celebration festivities.
