Parade Testing at Magic Kingdom

..... Yeahhhhhhh........ I'm not gonna call BS but I'm gonna need someone I know personally before I believe it.

Stop spreading/believing that urban legend. It didn't rot. It was simply thrown out because they didn't want to spend the money ($1M-ish) to bring the parade back to show standards.

Don't forget all the little bits of Spectro that were put into Disney Trading Pins and sold for like $25 each. ;)

While I think a new parade will come, I think we still have 3-5 years. 5 if MSEP can live that long (can it???).

UGH. That's disheartening. MSEP is old and outdated... they need to stop parading it around like it's a brand new shiny show pony.

The parade is in pain from age and it's time to put it down.

For real, though. At least the ride lines will be short during MSEP... I fully intend on using that to my benefit!

I'm sorry but MSEP is an embarrassment at this point. I do not understand why they can't bring Paint the Night over? Besides money of course...there is no reason why parades and night shows should not be replaced every 5-10 years to keep things fresh and exciting. At least DHS and AK will have new shows to experience soon.

Do we really need to give Disney a free pass and allow a 3rd copy of the same parade? Personally, I don't think PtN belongs in a castle park. It would be better at Hollywood Studios.

How about a new (actual light) parade for MK with rescored SpectroMagic music?

I'd want something better than Paint the Night. Nice enough but not anywhere near the level of Dreamlights, MSEP or SpectroMagic.

Saw PTN last month at DL and it was really beautiful. I would love for MK to get a new hybrid of MSEP and Spectromagic. Combine the best of the two with newer tech.

That being said, PTN would be a great addition to DHS in a few years when SWL and TSL are done but add new parts like Star Wars to make it different from the other PTNs.

here is a photo of one of the new floats they were testing (Anna and Elsa's)... looks like budget cuts have hit hard

I would love to have a new nighttime parade for Magic Kingdom, however I don't want Paint The Night. I've seen it and don't feel it belongs at Magic Kingdom. We need something more majestic like SpectroMagic was. Paint The Night is neat with it's lighting but that's about it. It's to heavy on Pixar and for me the music doesn't work.

When I saw Paint the Night my mouth dropped at the technology being used. Yes, I'm used to that technology but was so happy to see it utilized in a Disney parade. That being said, there isn't enough "princess theme" in it for what the typical MK has. Then again, that's probably why I love it so much, as I did with their fireworks show.

Where is it parked? Is that what Frontierland looks like now? My goodness they've let things slide since January.

To see the rest of this amazing, unforgettable, magical Disney Parks (tm) parade it'll cost you as it's only going to be shown during their Rip Off Absolutely Everyone Celebration Dance Street Party... or, ROAECDSP for short. Tickets start at $69.99.

I assume that is the price for the soon-to-be-announced Age Conception-2 ticket category. $99.99 ages 3-9, $199.99 for ages 10+.

Pregnancy tests will be administered at the security scan. No more freeloaders.

Paint the Night is an amazing parade and WDW guests would be blown away when they see what they've been missing.
It may look good in Disneyland, but for WDW it doesn't work well. Especially since PTN has a different feeling (Upbeat and hyperactive) while Spectro had a more whimsical and magical feeling to it. After Spectro ended it's going to be a tough act to follow.

I'm gonna feel like a beloved pet died if they get rid of the MSEP. I cant even imagine walking around MK during my favorite part of the day without hearing that fun catchy music. Hope it's just a rumor.

As noted, this rumor is almost certainly nothing. That said, if Paint the Night were to replace MSEP, you would be happy to know that the parade's music features Baroque Hoedown (the theme from MSEP) prominently.

Personally, I rather enjoyed PTN and would be happy to see something similar at MK. I much prefer MSEP/PTN (or something similar like Dreamlights) to Spectromagic. I know that tends to be a minority opinion on here.

Can we please keep that garish Paint the Night in California where it belongs? No need for another tacky pop music parade soundtrack to be blaring down MSUSA. I think the parade is technologically astounding, but content wise? Yuck! I want a brand new, original, WDW MK exclusive nighttime parade! No more cheap knock-offs please. We already get enough hand-me-downs!
Dreamlights had a better representation of the Pixar characters compared to PTN.

Am I the only one who would like it to include "On This Magic Night..."? I always think of MSEP as being DL's parade that we got as a hand-me-down and I'm tired of hand-me-downs. Spectro was OURS. And WDW has been around long enough that nostalgia sells, as they are well aware. What better for the 50th anniversary than an updated version of the parade from the 20th?
