Parade Grand Marshall

Has anyone on here ever been chosen to be the Parade Grand Marshall and ride up front!! Is there anything you can do to up your chances of being chosen?

It is currently given out at random, I would say being at the park early will help, but other than that, it is completely random.

My father and his 6 grand children were Grand Marshalls.

A CM walked up to my father as all the grand kids were hanging on him.
He asked if all those kids were his?!?!?!
He then asked if we could come back to be in the parade.

I guess he just looked right.

We were Grand Marshalls of the MK afternoon parade in Feb. '08. It was a blast! We were approached by a CM on Main Street shortly after opening. A wonderful Disney experience and of course they made us feel very special.

I was chosen in Aug 07. My bf and I were just meandering down Main Street right after opening taking pictures of the windows. I guess we looked like Disney freaks---everyone else is rushing to get their FastPasses and we were just soaking up the atmosphere.
I also had a birthday button on---thats how the guy who chose us started up his conversation with us.

I loved it---they gave us embroidered mouse ears, certificates that said we were the grand marshalls, we got to hang out backstage, special seating to watch the parade when we were done, and a free photopass picture of ourselves.
