Hi folks

We have only dined at Palo and on our next cruise we will be returning and wont be dining at Remy as of right now! But to those who have experienced both which one do you prefer??

Oh! I wanna hear this, too! I think I would lean towards Remy just because of the theming and me being a sucker for Ratatouille but I would love to hear the comparisons. Do they give you the little thank you gift in your stateroom after Palo the way they do Remy???

We decided not to try Remy after looking at the menu. It seemed a little beyond my rather pedestrian palette. And for $75 a person, it just didn't seem worth the risk/reward ratio. It's a beautiful restaurant, for sure, but probably not for me -- until my Platinum status gets me a free meal there.

I have done Palo but have only heard personal accounts about Remy. The easiest comparison would be Palo is to Remy as California Grill is to Victoria and Albert's.

Remy was unreal.

Let me preface this all by saying both my wife and I travel a lot for work, and we know excellent food and excellent service. I have been to some of the best resturants on both the east and west coast entertaining clients. Whether its Sushi, Steak, Itallian, Mexican, Vietnamese, it doesn't matter. I also have a friend who owns several resturants across the US and he is always my go to for where to eat where ever I may be at any given time.

For starters, the service. To say that it is exceptional is like saying a bentley is a luxury car. The service is what other establishments should aspire to, it was informative without being condescending, and it was attentive without being intrusive.

The menu, yes, it looks a bit over the top at first, but if you explain to your server, what your palette is, they will guide you on your selections and you will not be dissapointed. I have had a Waygu (American Kobe Beef) Filet only one other time, at the Urban Farmer in Portland, it was delicious their, it was unreal at Remy. Everything was cooked perfectly, there was the perfect amount of time between courses, and the portions were such that you could make it through all 8?(or 9? ... counting the box of chocolates we found in our stateroom later that night). The wine pairings were perfect too, each was well planned and complemented the food perfectly. The selection of arisan cheeses at the end, to die for, the fresh honeycomb ... wow. The truffle bread ... made me back off my low card diet that night. The assortment of candies ... look out.

The environment. You just have to experience this one for yourself. I will say the view is spectacular.

In my humble opinion, it is worth every penny, my only caution would be to do this on your last night. We did it our second night, and dinner on the 3rd night, while good, was .... dinner. :D

I have a few photos from out dinner that I will post at some point.

I've only eaten at Palo. And I would have to say it has been the best meal of my life! The chocolate souffle was worth the wait :) Our waiter was amazing. He was very attentive and gave great recommendations (he's the one that insisted on the souffle). I would definitely spend the money for Palo again and again.
