Palo question

We had Palo on our cruise last year and really enjoyed it. We are planning on dining there again this year but wondered if I had the ordering freedom that I have at EG, AP, and RP? I was curious if I would be able to order a Palo filet with a side gnocchi or penne with sauce? I really wanted to try some of the other items there but at the same time don't want to pass up on the filet.

Thanks.

You do have freedom, I have the palo steak and a ravioli side of beef made as a half fish of an entree. I have a soup to start the soufflé and a pan a cotta.

when we went, we figured oh the buffet part we can go back as many times, (thank goodness, I loved the tiramisu), but the plates from the kitchen, we thought "oh just one plate" ok no big deal... later that day we ran into a couple who had been there at the same time we were, and asked if they enjoyed their meal, they started explaining they had shared ONE of every entrée from the kitchen... I didn't know we could do that, so when we go in February we will definitely remember to eat lighter and share so we can try as much... Chicken Parmesan was to die for delicious...:hungry:

Follow up question:
DW just read that the $30/person charge to dine at Palo is for gratuity. Is this accurate?

The $30 charge is supposed to cover the gratuity, yes. But it gets divided among a number of the staff. You can leave more if you like, obviously.
Thank you for the confirmation! We left more last year but were unaware that the fee went towards gratuity.
