Palm Pilot Restaurant Pagers

Last time I was at WDW, they were using a very peculiar set of pagers for our Lunch at the Rose and Crown pub. It was January 2002 and they had a palm pilot in a case that incorporated a vibrating attachment (no jokes!) that served as a restaurant pager.
I was wondering if anyone knows if this was a limited trial thing, is it still being used and is there anywhere else that uses this method?

They were rather bulky, but they had features such as games, maps and also a menu to email friends at home. Kinda different!

We too had the palm pilot thing when we went to Rose and Crown in March 2002. We haven't been to Rose and Crown since, so I couldn't tell you if they are still there or not, but they were pretty neat!

As of last Tuesday, the Rose & Crown was using the black "coaster" pagers that light up and vibrate when your table is ready(same as everywhere else on property that we've eaten). Never seen or heard of the palm pilot things on property. They sound like they were pretty cool though:)

PS-This is my first post...YEAH!!
