Pal Mickey

Thanks PhD. I really couldn't believe he had been taken from us. Only good people go to Disney World. No one would steal there! That's what I always thought.

We did meet one CM who really tried to help us out when we told her about it. But then there was some emergency and all security was sent out to work on something "big", so we didn't get him back.

Then I thought, well, maybe when the person gets ready to go home, they'll turn it in to lost and found and we'll get him back before we go back home anyway, but they didn't. (He's probably on eBay now.)

We ended up buying a second one because my son was so upset. Thankfully I had used my Disney points from my VISA to buy the first one, so it was kind of free. And I had enough points left to pay for 1/2 of the second one.

I still love WDW, and refuse to allow this one bad experience to believe that the place is wonderful and magical.

...but I do wish I'd get a call from lost and found saying they'd found my PAL!

We used our bonus points from Visa to get PAL mickey too.

I was wondering what they would do about stolen rented Mickeys? I wonder if some dumb person thought it was a rented one, and took it, like taking someone elses stroller. (then again no, they took it that fast right out from under you on your stoller, they knew just what they were doing.)

We asked...If you rent a Mickey, they have a serial number they keep on file, and if he is lost/stolen, they can kill his powers. They don't keep the number on purchased Mickeys.

That is interesting. Too bad they weren't more help to you. Now I am thinking of ways to "personalize" ours on our next trip.

OK HERE IS A NOTE TO MY FELLOW CAST MEMBERS!
You must educate our guests. You may think it is silly since you know everything already, but our guests do not. If you are one of the many cast members who gets to sell/rent Pal Mickey know your stuff. Tell your guest EVERYTHING about Pal Mickey. I can't believe I just read in a post that a cast member did not explain that when he giggle and vibrates you have to squeeze him so he can say what he wants to say. More important if he needs new batteries he will shake and giggle constantly. Tell our guests that. Make sure they get the little Pal Mickey book that comes with him upon purchasing.
Heck I even explain to our guests how a stroller works. It's not a normal stroller, they are not going to be used to it. It may sound silly, but to a family having to deal with all the craziness at WDW, knowing how things work is vital info.

By the way, love Pal Mickey, great companion for a lone traveler and awesome at Disney's Animal Kingdom, he told me stuff about my own park that I didn't even know.

I am so sorry to hear that, I see a lot of good things, guest turning in lost items, but unfortunetely there are bad people out there.

We bought a Pal Mickey when we were down in October. He was purchased at All Star Music and they knew nothing about him. We stopped at Guest Relations at Epcot and they had no clue. However, it seems all the CM's at Animal Kingdom are up to speed. Several even stopped us and asked how we liked him and if we had questions.

Pal Mickey rules!!!

I love mine...but I am a BIG KID!!! when is the new 2.0 out by may 5???? hope so I want a new one!!!! as a side note I let a friend...who is 7yrs old hold my PAL after beaing asked a million times. Well the boy who will remain nameless...lol took all of 10 mins to lose him!!!! but some one turned him in and after filing a lost report Disney sent him to my Home 4 FREE!!!! PS if you get one you gotta put your name on him!!!! Disney should make that a extra charge like buy him a shirt with your name printed in it, or on his foot.... cause anyone could take him...
